As I’ve been mentioning a lot lately, I’m reading contest entries so no book quotes catching my eye–at least none I can share yet. So, I’m falling back to one of my favorite topics. COFFEE! And I figure at least some of the people I know were up way late last night drinking the stuff and working on taxes. Can you say #procrastinate?
I believe humans get a lot done, not because we’re smart, but because we have thumbs so we can make coffee. ~Flash Rosenberg, humorist, cartoonist, photographer, and turtle wrangler
This is what sets us apart from LOLcats. *nods* Opposable thumbs.
Sleep is a symptom of coffee deprivation. ~Anonymous
Yeah, I need a tee shirt with that on it!
When we drink coffee, ideas march in like the army. ~Honoré de Balzac, French novelist and playwright
See? Writers know about coffee. *nods* Yeah, we do. And by now, you’ve probably figured out why some of my characters *koff-Sade-koff* drink it in giant-sized mugs.
So, have you had your coffee fix today? And if you don’t drink coffee, how do you ingest caffeine? 😉
First of the day on the go right now! Although I have ‘kicked’ the habit in comparison to my previous teaching life where it was coffee from morning to night – now, it’s 2 cups in the morning and then I’m done (I do have black tea after supper – one cup). Great quotes today 🙂
I don’t think I could survive on just two cups. I have cut my evening caffeine to one Diet Coke at bedtime. It’s for when I wake up with my sinuses. I need the carbonation. I am on my first cup and will have 3 or 4 more, and maybe a venti frappucino if I make it to the grocery store today. There/s a Starbucks across the street. 🙄
I love to go to Starbucks for flavored coffee drinks on occasion, but usually drink sweet tea for my caffeine fix. I’m really trying to cut my sugar intake, so even limiting that to just a couple times a week. I mostly drink water all day long, and not even the flavored kind since those have artificial sweeteners.
I’ve been using stevia for a long time now. It’s a decent substitute and supposed to be all natural and stuff, and there’s no weird aftertaste. I have, however, been trying to drink my ice tea straight. I just can’t do that with coffee though. I want it sweet and creamy! 😀
COFFEE! And no, I haven’t had nearly a sufficient amount yet. Or as I like to say “There’s too much blood in my coffee system.”
Funny that even Balzac knew back then how necessary coffee was to existence. Of course, he didn’t have Dew back then. And when I stop drinking coffee sometime mid-day, I switch to Dew. Heh, maybe I should switch that up there to ‘caffeine system’. ;o)
Americans started drinking lots coffee after the Boston Tea Party. It became downright patriotic. I’ll salute that! 😆 And now I’m picturing a whole series of Dew commercials with famous coffee drinkers from the past. Dang. I should work for their advertising agency! 😉
I want a tee shirt with that slogan. Or maybe I’ll appropriate my coffee fae pic and add it. “There’s too much blood in my coffee system.” Love. It. Now pardon me while I get another cup. 😀
