On the day before Thanksgiving here in the US, it’s a bit fitting that the #1lineWed prompt is *EAT/ATE*. And while I’m supposed to use a line (or in my case, a whole snippet!) from a work in progress, the fun “eat” line I found came from my new release. If you haven’t grabbed your copy of RESCUE MOON yet, just click on the cover. 😉
So…a Wolf and a girl and a horse walked into the desert…
***
It was now mid-afternoon, Dana was dozing in the saddle, and he was trotting along on a parallel track. Once the horse figured out he wasn’t going to eat it, the animal settled in and they made good time. From time to time, he urged the horse into an easy canter, other times, into a gentle jogging trot. Mostly they walked at a good clip. He ranged wide, locating a place to camp for the night, and even managed to bring down a small deer. He made sure to field dress it before Dana got anywhere close. He didn’t think she’d be squeamish but why take chances?
An hour before sunset, he changed, dressed, and backtracked to pick up Dana’s trail. She was awake and upright in the saddle, but looking grumpy as they drew closer together.
“Where have you been all day?” she demanded when they were within earshot.
“Scouting.”
“You left me alone out there.”
“I checked on you. For a city girl, you ride pretty well.”
“Seriously? You think you’re going to distract me by complimenting me hoping I’ll change the subject?”
He offered a lopsided grin. “Is it working?”

What do you think Dana’s response was?
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Enjoy your families, friends, and food. Eat well. Have fun.
Heh. No guesses here. I’m going to wait and see. I haven’t started this book yet, but it’s mine and I’ll be reading today or tomorrow.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and the whole family, Silver. I hope you all have an awesome holiday. :hugs:
Right back at you, B.E.! May you and the hubs have a wonderful day.
