Have you ever wondered where the term “cuppa Joe” came from? According to my sources, the US Navy once served alcoholic beverages onboard ships. However, when Admiral Josephus “Joe” Daniels became Chief of Naval Operations, he outlawed alcohol, except for very special occasions. Coffee then became the drink of choice, hence the term “cup of Joe.”
