How many of you played “Mother, May I?” when you were growing up? That was a playground staple, along with Red Rover, Statues, and Simon Say. And Dodge Ball. Dodge Ball probably has more to do with today’s advice from the Universe, because I’m always dodging those hard decisions, skipping away from taking those final steps, and looking for permission from someone else…or from my inner critic, fraidy cat, Iffy, and the world. Oh, yeah. And quite often, the Universe.
If you keep asking “May I?” Silver, I’ll keep asking “Will you?”
It’s never been up to me.
Tallyho,
The Universe

The time comes, as the Walrus reminds us, to talk of many things. But the Universe is telling us to get off our @$$es and just do it. What are you going to do today that you’ve been putting off while waiting for permission?
And yeah, that’s one of my favorite quotes:
“The time has come,” the Walrus said,
“To talk of many things:
Of shoes–and ships–and sealing-wax–
Of cabbages–and kings–
And why the sea is boiling hot–
And whether pigs have wings.”
~The Walrus and the Carpenter, Lewis Carroll

Ah, Dodge Ball. I was good at Dodge Ball. The secret is finding the small balls that have deflated a tad so you can grip them better.
I can’t think of anything I’m waiting for permission for. I gave myself permission to go indie. I gave myself permission to get rolling on the second book. I gave myself permission to do my own cover this time. The years of waiting for permission are over! Down with the overlords!
Ahem. Yeah, or something like that. But yeah, for all the big talk, I’m dodging and weaving, too. And looking for the squishy balls. ;o)
If it was a sport I sucked at it. And honestly, I’ve never been able to dodge anything heading my way. You’d think I’d be good at that by now. Not so much. I tend to stand there and let things hit me cause I’ve always been about facing things head on. Wether it was pleasant or not.
I’ve also always asked instead of just wondering. I’d rather know the truth than be left in the dark.
If I was passionate about it I always put everything I have into it. Be it a goal or someone I love. I don’t know or understand half-ass. (even though my father was the king of it) SO I say if you want, go at it will all you got! Cause for sure no one is just gonna give it to ya.
And as far as I’m concerned, Silver you always go at with all you got! 🙂
