Friday Free For All–August Edition

TGIF! I have had thoughts this week. And seen things. Many things. This is what happens when I fall down rabbit holes on social media and on the internet. Some things left me agog. Some made me laugh while rolling my eyes. Today’s list is pretty short. I had stuffs to do. Words to write. Cats to pet. Dog to sit in the yard with. Squirrels to almost feed out of my hand. Anyway…

Did you know that the lowest open string on a violin is the G string. Uhm… 😲

Take a minute–or two–and check out this series of Farm Cat Olympics by just CLICKING HERE. It’ll zip you over to one of the ICanHazCheezburger sites.

Learned a new term: Code-shifting. What is it? Code-switching is changing your style, dress, language or behavior to fit in different contexts or groups. Not that I would accuse a certain candidate of doing this but her fake southern accent irritated the snot outta me. I’m southern born and bred and come by my accent naturally, thank you very much. Another term comes to mind: pandering. But y’all probably know what that means…

My mind is like my browser–twenty tabs are open, eight of them are frozen, six of them say “Files Not Found,” and I have no idea where the music is coming from…but at least there’s music. 🤪

Finally, I leave you with this last bad writerly pun because it made me laugh.

    I laughed too ☺️.

The Cat Olympics – OMG what can I say? Loved it, especially the wrestling with grass. Laughs are good.

Code-shifting is new to me too. It fits her like a glove.

Both of my boys are not expected to get power back until next Wednesday. Those tornados and straight line winds took out so many poles and cell towers.

We have power but last evening we got 4.7″ of rain from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Crazy weather.

    Have a great weekend!

Sending good thoughts your way! We’re real familiar with the vagaries of weather around here so I sympathize and worry because y’all aren’t. Hopefully, surrounding areas will send in power crews to help. Our local power company has sent crews to Florida, Louisiana, and Texas in recent memory. Glad I could give you a laugh in the midst of all the stuff going on in your life. And yeah, the cat olympics was a delightful find! 😉 Hang in there.
