Wednesday Words: ??

Wait…Wasn’t is just Wednesday a day or two ago? Yikes. The days are all running together. The end of the year is rushing at us and I. Am. NOT. Ready! That said, seeing as it is now Wednesday I have words. New words! Yay. Also, they are award-winning words as the snippet posted today took top honors in last week’s Thursday Threads flash fiction challenge. And yes, those words are attached to the WIP, MOONSTRUCK: RETRIBUTION. “What’s the prompt?” you ask. Here it is: *”This timing unsettled him.”* For those of you who are fans of the series, you will totally get the beginning.

Mac glanced at his wife. Propped on her elbows, Hannah bent over the kitchen counter studying the cookbook sprawled open in front of her. Their son sat on a stool beside her.

Liam patted her encouragingly. “It’s not that hard, Mom.”

“Easy for you to say,” she muttered.

Looking away in case she caught him smiling, he refocused on the intelligence report he held. They might be living off the grid but he had ways of keeping a finger on the pulse of their enemies. He had to take them down so his wife and son could live their lives out in the open—well, as open as any Wolf could live. And it wasn’t just Hannah and Liam. The fates of all his men and their families rested on his ability to lead them through perilous times.

His phone pinged. Glancing down, he read Lightfoot’s text message. Mac’s second in command was moving Liz and Micah. Again. He’d gotten the same messages from Nate and Sean. Even Rudy and Antoine, despite the tightly-knit Cajun community out in the bayous keeping them and their mates safe, were on the move.

This timing unsettled him. All of them were being herded to the same area. Why now? And why there? He needed more info

Glass shattered in the kitchen. He jumped to his feet as Hannah let loose with a string of curses. He smiled. Frozen pizza for dinner. Again. He’d figure it out, keep them safe. That’s what Alpha’s did.
****

There it is. Just so you know, RETRIBUTION is a complitation book which will contain CHRISTMAS MOON, BLUE MOON, and MOON SHOT. This snippet happens sometime between BLUE and SHOT. I have to admit, I’m still in the rereading phase and I MISS these guys! It’s fun to touch base with them again. Writers, grab the prompt if inspiration strikes. Readers, what’s your back-up plan if things go wrong in the kitchen? 😉

I love how the smile comes across his face 💕.

My back-up is either grilled cheese and soup or pizza.

    Have a great day!

We all know three things about Hannah–she lives on coffee, has a mouth that puts even a biker to shame, and she can’t boil water. But she tries. LOLOL Ooh. Grilled cheese and soup is always a good one, unless Only is involved. Her idea of a grilled cheese is two pieces of bread and cheese “cooked” in the microwave. True story! 😆

    Happy Hump Day, Lady

Brought a big grin to my face 😊😊😊

It’s fun to be hanging out with the Wolves again. Sadly–or happily depending on point of view–I’m getting lost in the story and characters as I read through the previously published books looking for places to enhance, add, and fix. LOL Glad to make you smile! ❤
