Thursday Thoughts: Dark Days

Yesterday proved that a certain segment of this world never learned from what happened 24 years ago today. How do people raised with the freedoms and advantages provided by the USA hate that much? They preach tolerance and acceptance and inclusion only to be intolerant, unaccepting, and violent of and against anyone with a differing viewpoint. They are no better than those who slaughter in the name of their religion.

Then, to add acid to the mix, sick people took to social media to chortle in glee and post joyfully about the murder of a man who only engaged in civil debate. He offered open discourse. He didn’t hate those of opposing views. He didn’t ridicule them. He didn’t disparage them. He simply invited them to a dialogue, back and forth about those topics of disagreement.

I’m not particularly religious but I prayed yesterday. Prayed hard. And I continue to send up prayers for the Kirk family. And I don’t hate those who not only condone but actively inspire events like yesterday. And those on September 11, 2001. But I will tell you right now, if you thought yesterday was a victory, then there is a very special place in Hell for you and your ilk.

Kindness. Understanding. Family. Love of God. Love of country. Love of freedom. Love for his fellow humans. THAT’S what Charlie Kirk believed in. That’s what we should all strive for. Rest in peace, Charlie. Your legacy will live large.

The evil in this world and all the crap the left has done to cause this murder infuriates me.

Charlie was a very good man and my heart breaks for his wife and children.

He loved God, his family, and his country. When people celebrate the death of a good man, I’m thinking it might be time to go Old Testament, though that’s not what Charlie would want. Still…
