Tuesday Titles: What’cha Readin’?

Due to circumstances, I wasn’t on the computer much for any length of time until it was late and dark outside. Meaning if there was going to be a new post for today, it needed to be short. And sweet. Hopefully. When they dilate my eyes, it’s like 6 hours before I can see the fine print. Anyway.

I finished off the Devon Monk Ordinary Magic series yesterday. Thank goodness for audio books! As most of you know, I “read” almost exclusively by listening to audio books. I’m legally blind in my left eye and I do my best not to strain my right so I can keep it for reading/editing what I write, and for beta reading a few very select friends. Anyway. I loved the series and binged right on through all the books. But…there are threads. UNTIED THREADS! At the end of the last book. There’s a rumor that there will be at least two more books but no schedule on when that is going to happen. Anyway, I loved the series. Ordinary, Oregon is far from ordinary and the characters are delightful. Even the vampires. If cozy paranormals are your catnip and you haven’t tried these books, I recommend them. I listened to the Graphic Audio adaptations using a full cast. Fun stuff. But I want more. Hence my dilemma.

The next new release I’m looking forward to doesn’t drop until later this month. This means I need a book to listen to. I have weird tastes. Which means I never know what is going to catch my attention. So now I’m tossing it to you, friendly readers. What’cha readin’? Are you enjoying it? What’s it about? What are you liking–or not liking–about it? I need suggestions and if something catches my eye, hopefully I can find it in audio. I’m depending on y’all! Bring me your suggestions!! ASAP!!!

The other day, we found a mini-series based on John LeCarre’s The Night Manager – starring Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie. It was pretty good. Yesterday, I realized I had a copy of the book. (Yeah, sometimes I buy books and don’t remember that I have them.) So, I started reading the book. So far, so good. With LeCarre, you usually get a good read, but you do have to careful because some of his endings suck.

I’ll pass the mini-series info on to LG. He’s a big LeCarre fan. I haven’t read him in years. I’ll have to peruse LG’s library and then browse Hoopla and the metro library to see if a title catches my eye. He might be a “reading palate cleaner” as it were. And yes, Sometimes his endings suck hard!

I’m back seeing as well as possible. I’m looking foward to new “medium range” readers!

That should be perfect for the work that you do. (and for play time as well)

If I could do the cataract surgery over, I’d go for the near sight and glasses for far sight. I do soooo much more up close than I do at a distance. Before all the surgeries, I had a pair for watching TV & driving and then I had a pair for medium vision (computer), near (reading) and close-up (threading needles and reading directions on boxes!) I want to be able to see up close again! *whine*

Do the “progressive lenses” not work for you? I have always used those. Anywhere I look is in focus. My eye doctor was great at designing them just right.
He retired and I went to a different doc. My new glasses aren’t quite as accurate.

I hope your eye sight is all clear now.

I just picked up “Maybe I’m not God : cat chronicles” by Stefania Gander. It sounded good and it’s tiny. I will let you know what I think when I get into it.

    Have a great afternoon.
