Perfect timing. Serendipity. Kismet. Good luck. Being in the right place at the right time.
Call it what you will, sometimes we have it. Sometimes we don’t. This seems especially true when it comes to publishing. When a manuscript arrives and the stars are aligned, all of the above happen. Usually, though, we have to change the batteries in our watches and make our own luck.
I’m working on that with this new series. I let too many others dictate the path of this project and now I’m in charge. It’s scary. In a bad way. But that’s okay. I’m working through revisions. THAT OL’ BLACK MAGIC is turning into a stronger story–stronger plot, stronger characterizations, stronger writing. S’all good! And since I’m head’s down in the revision process, here. Have a link I forgot to put on the to-do list from Monday. I love pictures like these Perfectly timed photos.
Which one is your favorite?

Wow – they’re all so great, but does it say something about my Doubting Thomas personality when I wonder if what I’m looking at has been photoshopped? I never know these days!!
They might be but I’ve seen some photos that haven’t been. The photographer is just incredibly patient. Wouldn’t it be nice to have all the time in the world to sit and wait for the perfect shot? But even more, how lovely to have the sort of brain that looks at something and says, “I wonder if…” and THEN sits and waits for that shot! 😀
Cool pics, Silver. Thanks! I love the one with the Cedar Waxwing catching the berry. And the two cats with their tails making a heart. And the eagle whose talons align perfectly with the jet streams. Oh, and of course, the ground squirrel who decided he wanted to be in the picture, too. ;o)
All my fingers are crossed for you making your own luck with TOBM.
Thanks, B.E.! I’m not sure I can choose a favorite. There are whole sites devoted to photos like this and I get sucked in. 😆
Evil evil timesuck. Don’t let it get you. Get back to work. =op
Outdoor critters have been fed and watered, mail has been dealt with (along with morning headache from insomnia), and most importantly, I have been recaffeinated. I plan to knock out the rest of the revisions on BLACK MAGIC this afternoon. Or else! 😉
I saw those on FB but it doesn’t hurt to have a second look 😉
Keep at it Silver and stay strong – this story is WORTH telling even if it takes longer to get it right/out. I believe in Sade and her world but more important, I believe in you 😀
Awww, thanks, Ban! 😳 You’re going to give me a “Sally Field” moment! 😉
