Monday – Deja Vu

funny-pictures-i-know-those-feels-monday-catWhere did the weekend go? How can it be Monday? Where’s my coffee? Who had fun this weekend? Go on. Don’t be shy. Raise your hands. Yeah…that was pretty much my weekend, too. At least the weather was more springlike. I’m in the middle of contest/judging season. I caught up on some unpubbed entries for a contest. I’m always interested in the range of expertise. The stories were interesting but it’s fairly easy to spot the beginners from the ones who’ve learned the craft. I’m going to read Allison Brennan’s new book, NOTORIOUS, before I get back to the pubbed entries.

Work continues on the proposal for COWGIRL’S SWEETHEART even though I haven’t updated the word count. And speaking of updates, over the next few months, I’ll be revamping this site. Right now, it definitely leans toward the dark side. šŸ˜† I need to lighten up the header on the welcome page and this page (blog). Not sure what I’ll do. The Only and I are tossing some ideas around. Suggestions are welcome.

And now for some total randomness:

Did I mention Game of Thrones starts next week?

I did a Thursday Threads flash fiction word prompt last week for 250 words on BLUE MOON, which is Antoine and DJ’s story. I need to get through the proposal and FAERIE FREE (which might be FAERIE FEUD and/or A VERY FAERIE CHRISTMAS) that’s going in a Christmas anthology.

I’m out of Cafe Du Monde coffee. This necessitates a trip to the Vietnamese grocery store.

Today is opening day. Baseball, people. Baseball! Go Cardinals!!!

How was your weekend? And are you ready for the week?

Weekends are just too short!! Can’t believe it’s Monday already! Boo šŸ˜¦

Sounds like you had a busy weekend. I was busy on Sunday, finally got some oomph – laundry, bread-making, cookie-making, visiting, writing (next instalment is up) and made a fabulous roast dinner. No wonder I’m exhausted this morning. Thank goodness for coffee.

Oh, and I can’t believe tomorrow is April? What?

    • Silver James says:

I know, right?!? We at least have more spring-like weather here and I have a whole row of daffodils blooming. Weatherman insists there’s one more cold blast coming toward the end of the week. Yeah, Mother Nature’s attempt at an April Fool’s joke. šŸ˜›

Mmmm. Roast. Must put that on the grocery list, but I hope you didn’t run out of steam for the rest of the week, Janet. šŸ˜‰

  2. Was it a weekend? It’s all smudged together. I kept thinking yesterday was Monday and then when I finally convinced myself it wasn’t, I wasted the rest of the day watching the Harry Potter marathon. I finally got to see Deathly Hallows! Both parts – straight through. Which, of course, meant I didn’t go to bed until late and now I’m dragging butt (because heaven forbid I stay up late and actually sleep late.) Saturday was spent mostly on re-reading Djinn1 and working with Hubs on getting ready for the summer projects – measuring for insulation and exterior paint projects, playing with my image program trying different colors, etc. The joys of being married to a former municipal god. LOL

Heh, Janet, I made roast yesterday, too.

Sounds like you’re a busy gal, Silver, but that’s no surprise. I think I’d be surprised if you said you just laid around all weekend – but that’s more me than you. ;o)

Hey, I’ve taken some lazy-ass weekends. S’just this wasn’t one of them. šŸ˜†

Found a new movie coming out that made me think of you. Jinn. Premieres in theatres 4/4. Can’t wait for it come to cable/video since we don’t do theatres. However, it looks intriguing enough that I’d be tempted to go to a matinee if I had a buddy. šŸ™„

I need to start taking an hour a day or so to get some yardwork done, too. Yeah…I should. *nods* One of these days.

Got something to say?
