Wednesday Words – Men

cowboy-abs4I’ve been in the heads of my male characters of late and men surely don’t think like women do. So, because I wanted to use this pic–because this is the pic that’s always been what I see in my mind’s eye when I think of Chance Barron, I thought I’d offer some quotes about the male of the species. 😉

Freaking men. It didn’t matter what the problem was, they saw only three solutions to it: food, sex, war.” ~Charley Davidson, Fifth Grave Past the Light

I have been in the revenge business for so long, now that it’s over I do not know what to do with the rest of my life. ~Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

Men. Can’t live with ’em and can’t kill ’em. ~Sade Marquis, The Devil’s Cut

Show me a man with a weapon and something to blow up, and I’ll show you a happy camper. ~Major Hannah McIntire, Moonstruck: Secrets and Lies

Hell, yeah! ~The Wolves, in response to Hannah’s comment

Cold beer, a fast Harley, a hot woman. And maybe a pizza. Definitely the Harley and the beer. ~Elijah “Easy” Cross, sergeant of arms of the Nightriders Motorcycle Club

Yes, some of those are teases from upcoming books and characters. 😉 What are y’all doing this Happy Hump Day?

  1. Great quotes!

Today I will venture forth to pick up some stuff from the building supply place for the completion of the plumbing project and for start of the next project. Then Wallyworld where I hope to get some marigolds for the front bed, along with groceries and junk. Then the feed store for deer food. Errand day! Yay!

Now, here’s a snippet from what I wrote yesterday wherein Jo is having a bit of conversation with one of the men who’s giving her problems… who just happens to be a god…

Jay’s laugh echoed like thunder. I wondered what earthly region below us was about to get an unexpected storm. “That’s not how the game is played.”
I opened my mouth to ask more questions, but Jay just made shooing motions at me as my chair disappeared. “No more talk. Go do. Besides, the fourth season of Firefly is starting.”
    “There was no fourth season…”
I saw Jay wink at me just before he sent me hurtling through time and space again. This time, I could only hope he’d remembered to give me some magical Dramamine.

OMG, B.E.! I love this snippet! How are publishers not beating down the door? Jo is one of my favorite characters.

I did errands yesterday, too. And read. Yeah…finished Tessa Dare’s newest. Another day, another book. 😆

  2. Liza says:

I had to work all day today. I did finish reading the newest Charley Davidson book this morning tho. 🙂 Another winner!!!

    • Silver James says:

I loved-loved-LOVED SIXTH GRAVE, Liza! There were a couple of places where I was laughing so hard my sides hurt. And then she had me bawling, huge buckets of tears. That’s the first time in this series. I’ve always giggled and sniffled a little but this book?!? OMG, Darynda outdid herself! ❤
