Monday Easing on Down

Face the dayYesterday was Father’s Day. I miss my dad. A lot. I miss my father-in-law, too. Hard to believe they’ve been gone so long. 😦 Ah, well. Met the family for dinner. Company was great, food was so-so. But Magic Bean Sprout was there! Lawyer Guy and Uncle Fix-It both got Liam time after dinner. I had Liam during dinner because it was bottle time. 🙂

Insomnia has been my bedmate lately. She hogs the covers. And keeps the light on. 😛 I’m hoping she’ll pack her bags and take a hike. That said, I’ve been doing massive amounts of reading under her influence.

Saturday, I came back from errands and had a scene running through my head. I sat down and about 45 minutes later, I had just over 1100 words done! The scene is a major plot point and takes place about 3/4 of the into the book. While writing it, one of the secondary characters admitted something in the dialogue and I about fell out of my chair! He’ll get his own book eventually and man, I am soooo gonna exploit what he said! 🙂

Hope y’all had a great weekend. This week is full of OKRWA prep–Lawyer Guy and I are doing the program Saturday, LOTS of writing now that I seem to back on track with the story–or at least know where it’s going, and finalizing plans for the NRCA reception in San Antonio. What’s up in your worlds?

I went to the Heart of Dixie RWA luncheon in Huntsville on Saturday followed by a book release party for Toni Aleo in Nashville Saturday night. Made so many new book friends this weekend. Yesterday I bought groceries, did laundry and pretty much napped most of the day. Still playing catch up from being on the road 2 weekends in a row.

Can’t wait to see you in San Antonio!!!

  2. I was missing my dad a lot yesterday, which was probably why I was all grumpy-butt. (Well, one of the reasons anyway. LOL) We didn’t do anything special for the day. Sat around, watched golf, read. Listened to the rain fall. I’m so glad you had a nice day with the fathers in your life. And little Sprout, of course.

My insomnia and your insomnia ought to get together for a steel-cage death match. One could kill the other one off. Then one of us could sleep. ;o) Yay for getting those words out!

Not much up here. The usual. And Spring Cleaning. (No, I will NOT clean your house when mine is done. =op)

Damn, woman. You read my mind…or my comment on FB. 😆 Ooh…I love the idea of a death match! I bet we could jump on the winner and beat ‘er up so we BOTH could sleep! Actually, I managed to stay asleep from 1:00 am to 8:00 am, even sleeping through a fairly significant (for us) earthquake. I think it might have been the meds I took, though. Still foggy-brained this morning but not exhausted like I’ve been.

  3. Yeah, on getting your writing grove back on, my muse is still wondering around somewhere-lol
So I have been reading a lot, it also is a distraction from all the new house, old house, day job wild ride. Tablet has been getting a workout. Some books have left we wondering away by chapter 3?? TBR pile just increases-lol
1 that has not wanted me to put down is Raising Kanye, by Julianne Reeves,
I saw a post that she had passed away suddenly Friday, and a link to the book was posted, I recommend it, she was a writer taken way to soon.
I will be going to the author’s signing here in San Antonio on the 23. It will be my first one ever I’m both excited/nervous, to be able to shake and possibly HUG *waves at Silver* writers who inspire me to continue on my writing dream and thank them for helping us escape reality and get lost for awhile.
    Have a great day!
    Spurs did it–yeah!!!

I saw the same notice, Kimber, and bought the book. It’s on my Fire and probably soon to hit the reading queue. Yay on getting to see you at the literacy signing! I’ll be in the “J” section. 😉

      Congrats to the Spurs!
