Monday Muppet Flail

funny-pictures-i-know-those-feels-monday-cat It’s Monday again. All day. I spent last week working on an attitude adjustment. Magic Bean Sprout is back for an encore performance this week. I love the little dickens to death but dang…It’s been a LOOOONG time since I had to do anything with a baby in tow. From laundry to cooking to errands to writing… This week, I hope MBS is better acclimatized and me too! When he naps, I need to write like the wind! #1k1hr springs on Twitter, here I come!

Saturday was OKRWA monthly meeting. I got to meet Eileen Wilks, a new member, and I managed not to have a fangirl moment. Much. I love her books. If you enjoy shifters and magic and aren’t familiar with her World of the Lupi books, give them a try! Here’s a link to the series page on GOODREADS. Definitely read them in order!

I’m reading Kate Carlisle’s latest Brooklyn Wainwright Bibliophile Mystery book, THE BOOK STOPS HERE. I’m also perusing Lisa Cron’s WIRED FOR STORY: The Writer’s Guide to Using Brain Science to Hook Readers from the Very First Sentence. Interesting theories.

BLUE MOON is moving along. Slowly. I really need to get back in “spitting out the words mode.” The Wolves aren’t playing nice and I’m about to open a can of Iffy Special Whoop-Ass(tm). Antoine is been difficult and I’m going to turn DJ over to the villain. Lets see what he does about that!

TV: I taped all the episodes of TRUE BLOOD’s last season to watch when I had time. Uhm…I quit yesterday. They killed Alcide. In a stupid way, IMO. The Only says I need to watch the finale just for all the WTFery. Maybe I will. I am officially a captain on #TeamJamie! 😆 Totally in love with OUTLANDER. My only complaint is there is no soundtrack available. I would almost kill for the soundtrack! And more Jamie. Shirtless. Or sans kilt. Just sayin’…. Why yes, I am shallow, why are you even asking?!? 😉 I also need to give TNT’s LEGEND a try. Sean Bean as a burned-out undercover FBI agent. It’s taped. Just need to watch it.

What about y’all? Books? Shows/movies? Fun? No fun? What’s going on in your worlds?

  1. I was just sitting here thinking about babies and what it might be like to wrangle one after so many years, and then it occurred to me that my baby turned 21 last week. I am so not that old. (Okay, so I am, but I don’t want to be.) And no, no grandbabies anywhere on the horizon. Whew.

Where was I… Oh yeah, I guess you have to revert back to all your years ago and relearn how to do things with a baby in tow. I suspect it’s like riding a bike.

My weekend was keeping my head down and working mostly. Still polishing the one book, still rewriting the other, and now I’ve got a third book on the horizon that I’ll be working on editing as soon as one of the other two is finished. I also took some time to read a book I won – Taken In by Elizabeth Lynn Casey. If you like cozy mysteries, it’s a fun one. I’m only halfway through, but it was nice to take time for reading non-research related stuff. As for TV, I’m waiting for the season premiere of Lt. Joe Kenda on Tuesday and the start of college football on the 28th. Not much else matters. Especially now that Cold Justice had its season finale on Friday and won’t be back ’til January. =o\

Re: Lt. Joe….yeah. Interesting how much he reminds me of a certain fictional detective. 😉

Yes, there is a learning curve involved. 😆 I definitely get focused when Sprout naps! Of course, the operative word is “when!”

I totally forgot to record Legends last week. Wonder if I can catch the first episode on demand. I caught up on Royal Pains and Rizzoli and Isles this weekend. I was 5 weeks behind on both. R&I just about killed me with the last 2 episodes too.

Made me sad even though I sort of figured what happened would happen by season’s end. 😦 When they wrote Casey out of the picture, I didn’t see much hope for a good conclusion there. The only surprise is that they didn’t keep it for the season finale. Still haven’t had a chance to watch Legends. I’m betting you can catch it on TNT’s website.

  3. The wolves have there own way of doing things! I don’t want to be around when Iffy decides to go all Hannah kiss ass mode-lol
