Monday the 12th of Never-ending

Coffee MondayNeed I say more? It’s Monday. And it feels never-ending. So…is it nap time? πŸ˜‰

First, I’m guest blogging today with my good friend from the Kiss of Death RWA chapter, VICKI BATMAN. Click on her name to see the cool picture of my newest girly-girl acquisition. Shhh. It’s a secret, at least until you click through to see it. Vicki writes humorous romantic mysteries so go check her out!

Weekend. Lazy. ‘Nuff said.

Okay, here’s the run-down. I read. A lot. Insomnia has been A Thingβ„’ lately. I sort of tumbled into an on-going re-read of the In Death books. I’m reminded–again–of why I love this series and these characters. I normally just reread the first three books because they contain my favorite scenes and take Eve through her first, emotional character arc. But then I forgot how Feeney hurt her. And how she saved Mira. And Summerset’s growing admiration if not affection for her. McNab has joined “the family” and Trueheart is introduced. So yeah, while I’m waiting for new books on my wishlist to release, I think I’ll just keep feeding my addiction for all things Dallas and Roarke. πŸ˜†

Ashlynn asked a question about writing process on FB so I’m thinking about doing a blog on mine. Probably Friday.

There are 38 days until pitchers and catchers report for spring training. BASEBALL!!!!!

I’m about 1/2 done with the Sooper Sekrit Project (short story for submission). I like the way it’s coming along. Also chugging along on the editing and some revisions on MOONSTRUCK: SECRETS. Hoping to hear something about RDR#3 this week. Not holding my breath, but crossing fingers.

Snow. It’s forecast for Tuesday/Wednesday.

The house across the street (out my office window) is going up for sale. Anybody want to buy it? I’d love to have a friend in the neighborhood. πŸ˜† Plus, I make yeast rolls/cinnamon rolls to share. Just sayin’…

And that’s it. This was a very laid-back, quiet sort of weekend. What did y’all do? And who’s reading something really good? (Yeah, like I need MORE books on my TBR list!)

  1. Laid back is good, but insomnia sucks. I hope yours goes away soon. I think I got a solid 7 hours last night, so here’s hoping for tonight. :knocks on wood: Can’t wait to see your post of process. Allison did a great post over at Murder She Writes about process this morning. I love reading about all the different ways writers write. =o)

I’m up to ch20 in the proof-edit. Right now, it’s mostly scroll-scroll-scroll, add a comma or delete a comma, scroll some more. (Pesky commas!) I should be able to get that done today rather than Wednesday and send it out tomorrow. Still waiting on the artist. Once I get this done, I can go back to editing WT. Other than that, I watched football and movies (free pay channel weekend – Yay), and I read. If you haven’t started the Sin City Collectors series, don’t. They’re too awesome and like you said, you don’t need more books on your TBR pile. (Okay, do. They really are awesome, and they’re novellas, so they’re quick reads.) =o)

I love those last little things–typos, commas, apostrophes… NOT! πŸ˜† I have a thing about using it’s for its. *sigh* I checked out the Sin City series. I’ve read Angie Fox but she’s the only one of the bunch. I’ve added them to my TBR list, so I should grab the first two while they’re free. Thank goodness I’m prime so I have all that freaking cloud storage! Now get to work! Me, too. I’m still wasting time this morning. I messed up the coffee. It’s like drinking colored water. πŸ˜›

I hung out with the hubs and helped him on the Harley, but mostly was sick a big part of the weekend (monster). This morning, he has migraine from hell and can’t function. Geez. We are quite the pair.

I’m reading Unwrapping Love a Christmas Anthology. It’s the same group I’m joining up with for the Summer Anthology– so enjoying some stories and trying to figure out, how do you write that short??

    • Silver James says:

Ugh! Poor Hubs. Here’s hoping the migraine goes away and takes Monster with it!!! I’m excited about your anthology. Almost as excited as I am about the release of FUEL! πŸ˜€

  3. A little late posting? Was cold and Wet and just wanted to veg, I did bring work home I hope this won’t be a habit, covering for 2 peeps and still trying to play catch up, and yahoo are not much help including the boss??
I started a new author Susan Stroker, Protecting Caroline, Alabama and Fiona, next book in Feb, Navy Seal team rescues and finds love?
My WIP heroine seems to be taking lead spotlight along with secondary character, my alpha guy has gone in the shadows.

    • Silver James says:

Alphas do that sometimes…just so they can sneak up on you and scare you! Run with the heroine and secondary for now. πŸ™‚ If nothing else, it’ll make your Alpha jealous. LOLOL

Ugh on all that work. I’ll have to check out Stroker after I get my own SEALs written. I tend to read genres I’m not writing at the time. πŸ˜€
