Monday Spring Forward

Jim Hunt Coffee Forecast Have I mentioned that I hate Daylight Savings Time? With eye-stabby, red-snarly hate? There is no reason for DST. Not anymore. Except it’s one more way the government can screw with us. I haven’t adjusted from the change last fall! How am I supposed to function with my system screwed up coming and going?

I’m still coughing. I haven’t been 100% since before Christmas and I’m sick and tired of being sick. By mid-afternoon, whatever energy I had is zapped and I just want to curl up in bed. Sucks. Big time.

My publishing schedule is off. Only, who does my self-pub covers, has been sick too so I can’t fuss at her. As soon as I have the cover for MOONSTRUCK: SECRETS, it will be submitted. Once I get the POD formatting and that cover gets done, it will be available in print at CreateSpace/Amazon, too. After taking an on-line class in February, I’m diving into the Nightriders MC series as my next project. Then HARD TARGET: DOUBLE CROSS is next in line. I need to write, write, write!

Being sick left me plenty of time to read. Totally loved the complete series reread of the In Death series. Damn but I love those books. Then I reread Anne Bishop’s first two Others books so I could follow on with VISIONS IN SILVER. I probably have to wait a year for the next book. This gives me a very big sad, but the good news is, there are at least two more books in the series. These books will go on my yearly reread list. The problem with reading favorite books/series is the book hangover I’m left with. I haven’t opened a new book in a couple of days. I look at all the books on my Kindle and in the paper TBR bookcase and nothing catches my eye. This sucks big time! *sigh* What have y’all read lately that you’d highly recommend?

The only other thing I’ve been doing is watching spring training baseball and college baseball/softball. Yay. These are my sports.

That’s about the sum of my life of late. What’s going on with y’all? *wanders off to refill coffee mug and start writing about biker wolves*

  1. Sing it, sister! Stupid time changes. Unnecessary hooey. Worst idea Ben Franklin ever came up with, but I’d like to poke the dorks who thought it was awesome and implemented it in the eye. Sorry you’ve been so blechy. :hugs: And hugs for the Only, too. Being sick sucks. Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help. (I know, not much from here, but I’ll do what I can.) Yay for reading time! Boo for being behind on the writing. And Yay for baseball!

You know me. Writing, editing, reading, TV. The fabric of my life. Knocked out about 2K words last night on the rewrite for Fertile Ground. Tweezed the ellipses from Wrongful Termination and worked on the cover art for that. Treated myself to the most recent Larry Correia Monster Hunters book last week and read a couple hundred pages of that yesterday. Got my first 2 star rating on Goodreads last night, so I guess that means I’ve made the bigtime. Back to work today.

Ugh on being sick for so long! That sucks! Sending vibes and healing prayers your way. And being sick and really mess up writing plans. Cheers to you getting back into the writing vibe!

And boy did I ever have a hard time getting up this morning. The Hubs and Wildman were no better. I will say I wish they would leave the time change like this. I love the longer evenings. Just leave it be and we’ll all be happy. My body adjusting to one hour is like jet lag and I have too much to do to be dragging.

I peeked at edits on Wreck and I’m very happy with her suggestions. First time working with my new editor, Ally, and love her already. Plus she loved Ethan so that’s a good thing.

BTW– I never did thank you for my review on Fuel. *hugs* thanks so much!

  3. DST does suck-I was dragging part of yesterday– also I write better when its dark? I said that to someone at work and they said close your blinds *seriously want to do a Gibbs Slap*
My cough is still hanging around, my chest hurts, good news I don’t feel like I am coughing up a lung!!! Have appt with pulmonary dr on the 23th!
I have been doing the longhand thing on paper and tapping keys. Hung out at Barnes & Nobles last Friday evening*had a table close to an elec plug, thank god I took an extension cord*
Re read Moon Shot, laughed, cried, really hoping a red dot gets put on the General’s body eventually!!!!
I’ve read some good books, but don’t have my tablet to get all the info straight *hangs head*
Hope you and the only feel better soon.
    Congrats B.E. on the review.

AWWWW! Thanks for the reread. I really enjoyed writing MOON SHOT. 😀 As for writing when it’s dark, maybe go to bed early and get up before dawn? *ducks and runs*

And yeah, I relate to that whole coughing up a lung thing! We both need to get well.

Got something to say?
