Wednesday Words – A Kiss Is Just A Kiss

wurkn-on-mai-plan-for-word-domination-caleb-pupYes, exactly! I’m working on my plan for WORD domination one snippet at a time. 😀 Guess what day it is? Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike! Guess. What. Day. It. Is! It’s time for #1lineWed on Twitter and the longer snippets here. Today’s theme? Kiss of Death is getting romantic because it’s all about the kissing! ❤ Here's some snippets from Nightriders NIGHT SHIFT, my current WIP.

Due to circumstances, Easy and Sam are stuck out on the side of a mountain. He has ideas. I mean, come on! The guy's a Wolf, right? 😉

“Do you know what you’re doing?” He saw the stars glistening in Sam’s eyes as she stared up at him.

Easy brushed his fingers across her lips. “I do.” Lowering his head, his lips touched hers. Her mouth softened for him and he sank into her. The taste of her mouth, her skin, and the texture of both, aroused, soothed, seduced. The shape of her—the athletic legs, the curvy torso, the firm breasts that just fit the palms of his hands—made him want to howl.

And a bit later, when things are getting serious…

She tugged at the shirts, the one he still wore, the one she’d borrowed from him. Easy helped by simply ripping the one she wore down the middle then jerking his over his head. Flesh met flesh. She arched against him, a throaty moan teasing his senses. He burrowed deeper against her.

The night air chilled their skin, but blood heated inside them both. She breathed as their mouths met again, a soft sigh against his lips and their tongues danced in a long wet kiss that slipped from gentle to urgent.

Being a MC book, we all know bad things happen. Without giving away plot bunnies, just know that Sam has been rescued and she and Easy are alone.

The hands that had pounded the wall with rage until they bled were gentle when they touched her. He was terrified he would hurt her even more but she was the one who drew him down, held him. She was the one who sighed when he sighed. They would comfort each other for now. He could do that. The need for revenge burned like acid through his blood but he would hold on. He would remain gentle for this remarkable woman.

It was she who drew him down, held him close. Who sighed when he sighed. They would comfort each other now.
Her lips met his, parted in the softest, sweetest of matings. Her hands stroked his back, along the hard planes of muscle as he fit his body to hers.

She loved the weight of him, the shape and hardness of him, the scent and the taste of him. When his lips roamed to her throat, she angled her head to give them both more.

There was tenderness in long, lush kisses, in slow, sliding caresses, a tenderness they both needed in this brief moment. There was warmth, too, heat shimmering over flesh, then deeper inside until muscles and bones melted.

What do you think? One more? Yeah…I’m thinking I’m on a roll. 😉 This scene is a little different take on kissing. 😀

A cookie appeared on my bare chest. A Vanilla Wafer. Shit. I hadn’t eaten one of those since I was a kid about her age.

“For me?”

She nodded but didn’t say anything. I picked it up and put it in my mouth. She reached out again but this time she poked my cheek with one finger. I stopped chewing and held my breath. She stuck her finger in her mouth, almost like she was tasting me. It was weird as hell. Then she puckered, kissed her fingertips and laid them on my cheek. My eyes burned for no reason I could figure out and damn if they didn’t go all wet when she smiled at me.

When I blinked, Noni turned and slipped out the door. I don’t know what the hell just happened but it felt like I’d passed some sort of little kid test. It was fuckin’ strange but kinda cool at the same time.

Who else has words to share from a WIP or a book you’re reading? C’mon, now. It’s Hump Day! What better way to celebrate mid-week than with words!

[*note: I did mention this is a WIP. When finalized, the book will be in 1st POV, with Easy and Samantha trading views. When I wrote these scenes, all but the last one, I automatically went with 3rd POV because that’s what I normally write. Ah well. LOL]

  1. “Is this a kissing book?” ;o)

Seriously awesome snippets this morning, Silver. Here’s the first ‘kissing scene’ I ever wrote, and why there’s no kissing in it.
Laying her hand gently on his arm, she said, “There’s plenty of time, and one small kiss won’t take too long.”
She could see the temptation rising in his eyes, and he swayed slightly toward her as if fighting a battle. The smile in Michael’s eyes turned slowly to a smoldering gaze, and his hand reached for hers. Gently he took her fingers from their grasp on his shirtsleeve and raised her hand to his lips. He kissed the back of her wrist softly and looked into her eyes. “There’s always time for one small kiss, my dearest,” he said, “but there isn’t time for the things that have to come before it. A kiss is a promise, Alex; a promise you will be the only woman who’ll ever feel the touch of my lips again. I don’t make promises lightly, and when I make this promise, we’ll both know it’s the right one to make.” A look in her eyes made him stop, and in an instant his resolve nearly crumbled, but the same force of will that put Los Verdad on its mountain was more than enough to shore up his resolve. “It’s not a popular way of looking at romance, I know, but I don’t do things the popular way; I do things my own way. When I kiss you, you will know you’ve been kissed and you will never kiss another man for the rest of your life.”

LOL. Yes, NS is definitely a kissing book. And many sexy times. But there’s also suspense, danger, hot MC Wolves, and bad words. What can I say. LOLOL

DUDETTE! That was your FIRST kissing scene? *fans face* That was hot, romantic, and whew! You REALLY need to drag this book out and finish it! Just sayin’…

Got something to say?
