Monday Moods

Release Day FearPanic. That’s the mood at the moment. And that over there? That meme? Yeah, That’s exactly how I feel with every new release but especially with this one. The Nightriders is such a departure for me–first person POV, dark and dirty, gritty, violent. Don’t get me wrong. The F-bomb and I are BFFs so it isn’t that. It’s the other stuff–the violence, the sexxor-sexy times. We’ll see if my readers go for it. We’ll see if it picks up a wider audience. I shouldn’t worry about it but this? Yeah, I’m worried and I’m not really sure why. So, here’s the hard sell: GO BUY MY BOOK! ‘Cause I don’t want to live in a van down by the river! That would be like living a Rob Lowe Direct TV commercial. I just like my comfy house. Here’s the AMAZON LINK, plus go mark it WANT TO READ on Goodreads so it shows up in your timeline and people will see it. *nods*

Anyway, on to the next project, DOUBLE CROSS in the Hard Target series. This is Master Chief Duke Reagan’s story. He’s not very happy with me–not because I put him on hold to write NIGHT SHIFT, but because he doesn’t like the opening of his story. He’s a SEAL team leader. He HATES the beginning. But sometimes, you have to deal with the pain before you get to the HEA. Right? I’ve also got THE DEVIL’S CUT on tap, too. As things hit me, I’m working it it sort of simultaneously. The Penumbra peeps are jabbering and I’d be foolish not to listen.

In other writing news, THE COWGIRL’S LITTLE SECRET garnered a 4 star (out of 4.5) review from RT Book Reviews Magazine.

The weekend was fun. We had Stormageddon (Sprout’s new moniker) for six hours. There’s video on my FB page–the personal, not the author. There are new NIGHT SHIFT memes on my FB author page. Go check them out. I’ll be adding one a day all this week. Anyway, we gave him a metal coffee can, a plastic container, and a wooden spoon to play with. Forget that big tub of toys. He had a ball banging away. Yes, he’s a cutie pie. Yes, I love him to pieces. Yes, I’m glad I can send him home with Only! 😆

Sunday, I played graphic artist and made up the memes I’m sharing on FB. I’m also considering adding a meme page here. What do y’all think? Would you go check out the memes I’ve made for my books if I had a dedicated page? Probably under [Stuff and Nonsense] – which never gets updated. 🙄 I also watched Cardinals baseball, checked out “Messengers” on the CW–I’d taped the episodes. Interesting. Angelic messengers, Satan, and good vs. evil. Unusual cast of characters. I’ll stick with it awhile. I also need to catch up with the DVR’d episodes of the series, “Dig.” It’s about an archaeological dig in Israel. It looked intriguing but I haven’t taken time to watch it. I’ll do a marathon at some point. 😆

Reading–still doing the RITA thing. Dang. It’s going to be hard to judge this category. Every book I’ve read so far should be a finalist and I have to rank them. Argh! In between, I’m catching up on some paranormal reading. Nothing that really stands out–good or bad. Mostly entertaining but nothing I’d recommend highly.

So, plans for this week. Writing. Staying current with social media. Writing. Laundry. Writing. Did I mention I have a lot of writing to do? 😆 My life is so predictable and boring. What about y’all? Fun weekend? Good TV or movies? Good books? Good writing? Distract me! Because…who wants to think about a team of sexy Navy SEALs?

  1. SQUEE! Wishlisted, ‘Want to Read’ed, and shared on FB. Sorry you’re panicked, but I totally get it. :hugs: Yay for Sprout time! The video I watched was awesome. He looks like a happy, normal, energetic, little boy. No Stormageddon there. I love your memes, but I doubt I’d go to a page with them – because I’d forget. Still, I think it’s a good idea because most people aren’t like me.

Hubs finished reading through Accidental Death and only found a few things – none of which are huge. A missing word there, a wrong word here, a couple things that need clarification earlier in the book. Easy peasy. I read an awesome SF called Vengeance from Ashes. It pretty much kicked butt. Then I had to dive back into reading through one of my other books – Bloodflow – for content and clarity, so I can start getting it ready to publish this fall. I’ll dive into Djinnocide next month. Got my art quote this morning and he’s ready to jump into creating the scene. So, yeah, I’m pretty exciting over here, too. Woohoo!

Sounds like a solid writing schedule, B.E.! And I figured Hubs would like ACCIDENTAL DEATH. It’s awesome! Stormageddon is sweet, until he’s not. Which is often. LOLOL Just ask his momma! Must check out VENGEANCE. Like I need MORE books to read! 😉

Oh, I set up a Pinterest board for the memes. Was easier. 😆

Uh…*raises hand* I want to think of sexy Navy Seals, if its all the same to you. 😛

You always have a hundred different things going and honestly don’t know how you keep up with it. I work on one thing at a time. BTW I love that meme! I think I have it on Pinterest too. The SNL skit with that is hilarious!

Speaking of hilarious…we went to see Gabriel Iglesias aka Fluffy on a whim Saturday night. He’s a stand up comedian and my son’s fave. I laughed so hard. That guy was sooo funny. What was funnier was watching WIldman laugh so hard I KNOW he peed himself. hahah

I have a very busy brain and a Muse on chocolate crack. What can I say? And yeah, deep down I rather enjoy my SEALs too. 😉 Ooh! The kids like Gabriel Iglesias too. And I love the name Gabriel but so many writers have used it as a hero name. *sigh* And LOLOL on Wildman! *snort*

  3. Happy Monday!
I popped on FB for a minute, because I’m not really on right now, and saw the Night Shift release, so off to Amazon I went!! I started it Saturday night late and finished by lunch Sunday. I left a review on Amazon (hope its okay- not a season reviewer yet) Having trouble getting in my Goodread account so I’ll leave there also once I get straight.
It was a wild ride no pun intended–it was a different side of the Wolves-these are hardcore bikers the code they live by is different then the 69th-but family pack is still priority!! OMG with the wolf pelt???
The bottleneck scene at the door–rofl
And I will look at vanilla wafers differently from now on *wink*
If the Seals need someone to hold their towels–I’m sure Ashlynn and I will be glad to help!!!!!!!
Scorched earth has a different meaning now.
    Have a great day–happy belated release—-you did good*high five*

It’s a really good book, Night Shift! Go buy it! Okay I’ve done my promo for the day. And I’m so looking forward to the Hard Target series. I love me some Navy SEALs and other world wide operatives. Congratulations on the RT review, Silver. 🙂
