Monday, Funday…Or Not

dear-monday-i-want-to-breakup-im-seeing-tuesday-and-dreaming-about-friday-sincerely-its-not-me-its-you-9bb80I leave for New York City in two weeks. *FLAIL*

I have a manuscript due in 42 days. *FLAIL* At least I’m almost half way to my word count.

But it’s Monday and it’s time for a weekend update. 😀 Friday was an FTA day for the James Gang. We loaded up in Drover (my Highlander) and headed down to Meers for burgers and a little sight-seeing/photography. We got back about 4 p.m., the kids loaded up and headed home and Lawyer Guy and I headed inside to nap. We’d been up since 5:30 with Cooper. He’d done something to his foot/leg/shoulder/ear and cried every time he moved. We doctored, etc. and he was better so we made the road trip. He was much better when we got home so LG hit the couch, and I hit bed. Woke up in time for the 10 o’clock news. eye roll I was back to sleep by midnight and then up and moving Saturday morning. I did stuff Saturday. I don’t remember what it was. Yeah, exciting.

Sunday was spent getting ready for NYC. I’ve ordered postcards with my Harlequin covers, ISBNs, and info to hand out to the librarians. I’m still working on other stuff to put into gift bags for them. I also ordered new, sexy business cards and mugs with the business card on them – one for use at signings, one to give away in my next newsletter. Wanna see?

Did I write? Not a lick. Which is why I’m flailing over my second sentence up there. I have so much crap to get done between now and then. Just remind me that I love deadlines! I also read but I can’t remember what I read off the top of my head. What about y’all? What did you do this weekend?

I spent the whole weekend pretty much reading and working on reviews. I did my 5k training on Saturday like always, but spent the rest of the day reading. I did take a break from reading yesterday to go to the movies with my aunt. We have a $2 theater near me, so we are seeing all the movies we missed when they originally came out. Yesterday was Cinderella and with the exception of Ever After, it was one of my favorite versions of Cinderella. Then back to reading. Couldn’t seem to put down this book Double Cross. 😉 If you haven’t gotten your copy yet, get it now and be prepared to only want to read until it is finished. BTW, when is the next Hard Target book coming out?!?!

Hahahaha! Glad you enjoyed it. And…this fall? Maybe? As soon as I can. I don’t really have a hard date. I have to get DEVIL’S CUT done and hopefully MOONSTRUCK: LIES. Then I’ll work on CROSSFIRE (HT#2) and the next Nightriders. Did I mention I have two RDRs to write too? *faceplants* … *thud*

So glad you have fun at the movies!

  2. Aww, poor Cooper. :hugs:

We hid from the fireworks. I got some editing done. I read Double Cross – which rocked – and JB Lynn’s A Woof in Sheep’s Clothing – which also rocked. Then I read The First Wives Club. So totally not like the movie, but very engrossing. I inhaled it when I should’ve been working. All in all, a good weekend. Today, I have a routine doc appt and I really have to get my buns in edit mode so I can send this off to the editor.

I HAVE to get off the internet and work. I should be doing like 5K words a day. LOLOL Like that’s gonna happen. So glad you loved DC! Coop’s feeling better and eating so all’s good. 🙂
