I wish I could but I sort of took the weekend off. Saturday was a stay-in-bed-read-and-nap day. All day. I’m still fighting this stupid respiratory crud. I should have been working the edits my editor sent for THE BOSS AND HIS COWGIRL. I’m not quite half-way done and it’s due back this Wednesday. So far, he’s really liked most of it. This is good. Between lack of sleep and med head, I’m not sure I can do justice to a major revision.
We had snow Saturday. Sort of. Not enough to freeze on the roads but enough to sort of cover the ground. It was cloudy and cold and a good day to stay in bed. As noted above. Yesterday, I slept in, did some research for a project, wrote this blog, and got a little editing in.
Reading: I did some. Two Thea Harrison books–the latest in her Elder Races series. SHADOW’S END left me in tears. LIAM TAKES MANHATTAN helped a little. I also read an historical anthology, THE LAST CHANCE CHRISTMAS BALL with Mary Jo Putney and Jo Beverly headlining. There were 8 stories and this is the first anthology I’ve read in awhile where I enjoyed all of them. The editor deserves massive kudos. I’m not a big historical reader but I saw this in either a new release or recommend book list and it caught my attention. My library had a copy so…*snatch*. I’m glad I did. I know I’ve read some other stuff but without Goodreads open or my Kindle, I couldn’t tell you. I’m ahead on my GR reading challenge so that’s good.
TV: Haven’t watched THE SHANNARA CHRONICLES yet. I should probably do that before the next episode to see if I want to continue DVRing it. While I haven’t read the books, I found it interesting that the author of the series is consulting in the production. I’m waiting for THE MAGICIANS on SyFy (sort of a dark and contemporary Harry Potter is college age) and LUCIFER on Fox. Yes, that Lucifer. He moves to LA and wreaks havoc. Fun times! Both start around the 25th, I think.
And that’s about the sum total of my week, weekend, and whatnot. The coming week is edits, getting health back to normal, and hopefully, the continuation of the proposal for RDR#7. And more reading. I also need to pick out an audiobook for my free credit from Audible for January. Anybody have suggestions?
What did y’all do this weekend? Any plans for the upcoming week? Whatever you do, stay healthy!
