Monday Thanks

monday-means-nothingYeah, cats and writers. Thanksgiving is Thursday. This is Day 21 of #NaNoWriMo. As I start the day, I’m only about 400 words from reaching today’s minimum goal. That said, I need to hit my 2500 word count to stay ahead. Wow. I live an exciting life. πŸ˜†

So…I have this thing tomorrow. It’s call a book release. I don’t have links yet. Thanks Amazon Kindle Worlds. πŸ˜› Anyway, RESCUE MOON goes live at midnight tonight or thereabouts. I’ll share links as soon as I have them. Set against the backdrop of Susan Stoker’s Special Forces: Operation Alpha, the story is about one of my Wolves, Hawkins “Hawk” Greenwood and his heroine, anthropologist Dana Peterson. It’s fun. It’s sexy. You want to buy it. Trust me!

Football. There was some. OSU won. OSU almost got beaten by Michigan State. I was really rooting for MSU. Wait…What?!?! πŸ˜† MY ‘Pokes beat TCU. That fake OSU was almost taken out of the mix by unranked MSU. Ah well. There’s still hope Michigan will take them out. Do your mojo, B.E.! OU also won. The rankings come out tomorrow. I doubt either of my schools make the top four for the playoffs but there’s always hope.

Reading is sort of…unfulfilling at the moment. Sad, right? Every time I get on social media, I end up angry. I want to live in some other world for awhile but no book I’ve opened has caught my attention–not even my old reliables. The TV shows I have DVR’d don’t resonate. There are no movies…okay. I take that last one back. I switched over to the Hallmark channel last night. I sniffled my way through a couple of Hallmark Christmas movies. Normally, I don’t even start on those until after Thanksgiving. The thing is, as much as I enjoy them, they aren’t truly the escape I’d like. Ah well. Depression is such a harsh mistress sometimes. So anyway…

This is week about giving thanks. About family and friends. About remembering the good things in life. So, this is short–for which I’m sure y’all with be thankful. πŸ˜‰ I’m thankful for each of you. I’m thankful I live in a land that’s free and I wish people could be happy for that instead of sowing discord and upset. Ah well. I can hope.

So, I’m writing and baking this week. What are y’all doing?

  1. LOL, if I had any mojo, Michigan would’ve never gotten beat by Iowa. We’ll see if they can kick some Buckeye butt on Saturday or walk away with their tail hanging. Yeah, NaNo. I’m behind and I’m not even playing along this year. I have 10 days to finish this book. Time to push. Yay for release day! As soon as you have a link, I’ll be buying and then pimping it. I wish I had something to recommend for reading. It feels like you’re not the only one in a reading slump – especially since sales are off this month.

I’m thankful you’re in my life. I’m also thankful we live in a free country, even if some people aren’t so happy right now. :hugs: Hang in there. (I says to both of us.)

This week will be writing. Maybe fishing. Definitely gorging myself on turkey come Thursday. The rest is up to the universe.

Yes. To everything you said. πŸ˜† Maybe I should root for those buck-thingys so I don’t jinx Sparty! πŸ˜‰ I have less than 10 days to finish my book. I need to ship it off by 12/1 at the lastest! I’m almost at 35K so only about 13K to go. I’ll do this. So will you! In the meantime, stay warm and may the fish be biting. πŸ˜‰

I feel you on staying off the internet and nothing really pulling me in on tv. I watched Leverage re-runs all day on Ion yesterday. Did switch over and watch my Titans lose, but really nothing is holding my attention. I did enjoy watching my TN Vols win on Saturday…if only Florida had lost to LSU too.

Reading right now all review books. I think I might take off January and just read for me. I have 9 books to read between now and the end of the year and review. Yep, overextended myself again. I am loving Caught Up In You by Jules Bennett that comes out next week though.

I’m thankful for all my friends and family this year. Also super thankful for my job even if it keeps me off blogs more and more each day. Thanks for having a place I love to visit each day, even when it is just a quick stop with no time to comment.

I’m going out to eat with my aunt for Thanksgiving, and we are doing non-traditional food at Maggiano’s. Some traditional Thanksgiving food items will be there, but pasta, different salads and desserts are different. Then headed to friend’s house so we can do a Gilmore Girls day on Friday. We are spending the day with her 12 year old daughter watching the new Gilmore Girls episodes on Netflix and eating junk food like the Gilmore Girls.

Awesome! And you, my old friend are a welcome “institution” here on the Wild Side–whether you comment or not. πŸ™‚ I ❀ you! It's really sad when I don't even want to reread or listen to NAKED IN DEATH. *sigh* And I still need 14 books to meet my Goodreads challenge. Ah well. I’m over-extended on the deadlines and that’s part of my problem, I think. I need to push harder so I can get caught up/ahead/done and then I might be able to find time for just…being. πŸ™‚
