Monday Countdown to Christmas

repeatSeven days from Christmas… Yeah…I’m not ready. But then I never am. More fun that way, right? Of course it is! Those of you who are ready, raise your hands so I can *phbbthh* at you. 😛

On a more productive note, I have a blurb and a cover for CRASH & BURN, my January release in Paige Tyler’s Dallas Fire & Rescue Kindle World. I’ll reveal them next week probably. I’m about 8700 words into it. It’ll be a short one, coming in about 25K so I’m good. Mostly. shiftyeyes

Did I mention that Christmas day is a week from yesterday? Not that I want to panic anyone or anything. And Chanukah starts on Christmas Eve.

Movies on TV: Hallmark is killing me this time of year. I’ve given up and put the Kleenex box on my desk. I did learn that Hallmark is premiering a new mystery series based on the Fixer Upper series of books by one of my favorite authors and a good friend–Kate Carlisle. I also watched MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING 2. I grabbed two songs from the soundtrack and enjoyed the movie as well. Mostly, I’ve had the TV on in the background for white noise.

Reading: I’m wending my way through Christy English’s HOW TO TRAIN YOUR HIGHLANDER. It’s light and enjoyable–so far. The heroine mistakes the Duke hero for a stable boy. I posted a picture yesterday on my Facebook author page for @SnuggleSunday that reminded me of Harry, the Duke. I also snatched a new audio book, though I haven’t started listening to it yet–Alan Russell’s ST. NICK. It’s a Christmas set “hard-boiled detective” book. *looks at B.E.* I’ll keep y’all informed when I get to it.

And…that’s it for me. Still cold though warming up tomorrow. I’m hoping to put off a grocery run until then at least but I may need a Starbucks run before then. Hey, drive-thru! 😉 What’s up in your worlds? Did you stay warm this weekend? Are you ready for the holidays?

  1. I still have to shop for Christmas dinner. Not sure what we’re having. If I can’t figure it out, it’ll be ham like always. I’m still not exactly in a holly jolly mood, even though we did get a dusting of snow yesterday.

Why are you looking at me? :gets paranoid: Oh, so you can recommend the book to me after you read it if it’s any good? Cool.

Yeah, still cold here, too. Bleh. And the power burped out for a few seconds a little while ago, so I’m paranoid about that, too. Do not need a power outage right now – especially since we run on electric heat. I’m having a day and it’s only 6:30. I think I woke up under the wrong side of the rock this morning. This too shall pass. With more coffee. :fingers crossed:

We have natural gas heat but still need electricity for thermostat and controls. 😦 Luckily, the people who built this house were Czech refugees and there are gas wall heaters in four of the rooms that just need matches to light. And I have a gas stove that can start the same way. We can stay warm, but no hot water–same deal, gas water heater but electric controls. 🙄 We’re doing brisket for Christmas Day, though I may have to get a turkey breast because SANDWICHES!!! 😆

And yes, I’m looking at you because you like those sort of books. I’ll let you know. 🙂
