Thursday Thoughts: Universal Holiday Advice

Christmas tree sparkleWith four days left for shopping and baking, I thought this bit of advice from the Universe was spot on. It also works well with Merry Christmas, Happy Yule, Happy Hanukkah, or your winter holiday of choice greeting. 🙂

A “Holiday Shopping” tip from your friend, the Universe:

During the merriment of your retail adventures, Silver, should you ever have to ask the clerk, “How much?” always follow their reply with raised eyebrows, a slight gasp, and a disbelieving, “That’s all?”

And when leaving, Silver, whether or not you make a purchase, don’t forget to saunter.

I’ve done my share of sauntering so my next item on the Christmas To-do list is spreading good cheer. Rolls and pies, here I come!

  1. I’ve found the key to any shopping experience is to just chill out. Especially right now when many people are totally NOT chilling out. Take your time. Smile at everyone. Joke with people. Ignore irritations. Sing. Singing helps a lot. I’ve been belting out Holly Jolly Christmas in the Walmart lately. That or whistling it. It makes me smile and keeps me from wanting to thump people in the back of the head. ;o)

Have fun spreading good cheer! And have fun baking! :hugs: Happy Holidays all around!

Likewise, my friend! Christmas story for newsletter is written. Today is edits and more words on CRASH & BURN. Tonight is the first batch of roll dough–to be made out tomorrow, followed by a second (family) batch for Christmas day and my homemade BBQ sauce for the Christmas brisket. Oh, and stuffing presents in sacks. Err…gift bags. 😉

No, singing in public for me would not be good. Or anyone else. I was at Target this morning and passed this young couple looking at wrapping paper and I heard her say, “that’s all they have?” I stopped and directed them to the back of the store. They ended up in line behind me with an armful of paper and boxes and said thank you. I shop way too much.
I did find a box of Nordic Wear Cookie Cutters, 51 piece, on sale for $6.99.

The Spawn and I were at AC Moore today, sorting through the bin of $1 yarn. I don’t know how many people came up and asked if we worked there and we still told them were to find stuff. It was amusing.

Got something to say?
