Not ready to face the day, but yeah… Work mode. Must get self in gear. Working on it.
So, who’s paying attention to the NCAA basketball tournament? *looks around* “Bueller?” … “Bueller?” Yeah, not a big roundball fan. On the other hand, baseball! We’re a week away from Opening Day! *muppet flail cheering* In the meantime, I’m watching some Spring Training games, college baseball, and college softball.
I’m still staying away from Facebook–mostly. I feel like a slug of a friend because I hang out on my author page and check a few groups that are writing/reading related. I avoid my personal feed because I’m so sick and tired of the politics and hatred that is rampant. I…just no. Not going there. For my sanity and blood pressure, I need to stay away until people calm down. Which means probably never. Jiminy. I just don’t understand the maniacal levels of loathing and malice. Moving on…
Reading! That’s a safe topic. Mostly. One of my long-term goals as a book “collector” is to own the entirety of JD Robb’s IN DEATH series in all three formats (hardback, Kindle, audio) if available, paperback if not in HB. Some of the earlier books aren’t in HB, except in a Thorndike reprint. With this current “re-listen” of the series, I broke down and started filling in the blanks where I’d used the library before. I still need to get PORTRAIT IN DEATH and IMITATION IN DEATH in digital/Kindle versions. And I need all the anthologies. I have them in paperback, but the individual stories are now in Kindle and on Audible but it’ll be awhile before I “complete the set.” I’d already broken down and now buy all new releases in all three versions to begin with. I also found a new-to-me author, Erin Kellison, and read her TEMPTED BY FIRE, the 1st book in her Bloodfire series. Dragons, people! It was a short, fun read. I’ll eventually get back into the series when my book budget recovers from the ID splurge. I also discovered that Andre Norton’s WITCH WORLD, the first book in that series, is on Kindle Unlimited! *muppet flail yays* Yeah, snatched that baby for old times’ sake. I’m doing a little of that…rereading favorite books from long ago. Dragonriders of Pern, Anita Blake, and now Andre Norton. I grabbed YEAR OF THE UNICORN and CATSEYE when they were on daily deals. Read UNICORN. Haven’t read CATSEYE yet. Was thinking about it when I discovered WW was on KU.
So…that’s life at the moment. Writing, revisions, edits, writing, treading water to keep my head above water. How’s life in your corner of the world?
You’re not a slug of a friend. You’re maintaining your sanity. My feed’s gotten pretty quiet, but that’s probably because 1) I unfollowed a bunch of people, 2) a bunch of people have unfollowed me. Now it’s mostly books and art and pictures of animals.
Speaking of books, go you on the reading. I’m in a slump. Nothing, and I mean nothing (not even Allison Brennan’s new book), has sparked my interest enough to make it past the editing frenzy. (I’m saving your latest for when I know I’m over this whatever it is.) I read something by Erin Kellison… can’t remember right now what, but it was really good. I’ll have to try her dragon books once I get through my TBR pile.
I finished the edit-notes pass on Wish Hits the Fan yesterday. I meant to start entering the notes, too, but I lazed out. Today. Today is for a haircut and cleaning and editing. And since it’s raining cats and dogs, I won’t be tempted to flee to the lake. Which reminds me, I hope you guys weathered last night’s storms okay. The radar was pretty freak-nasty. :hugs:
We got some drizzle. All the storms were south and east of us. We’re on the west side of the metro. The dry line was through here before the storms fired up. Looked pretty nasty up your way this morning! Keep your powder dry. 🙂
