Thursday Thoughts: Universal Care

The world is nuts. I can’t read social media or watch the news without my blood pressure going off the charts. I look at the shitstuff that people spout and I just shake my head. At both sides. Sometimes, it sucks to be in the middle. Needless to say, when the Universe dropped this into my inbox, the message was one that when straight to my heart.

What one little thing could you do today, Silver, within your means and your comfort zone, that would make you feel like a supercoolhappylovething?

Get down on it,
The Universe

The road to paradise, Silver, is made up of little steps, on a mostly dirt path, with earwigs and moss scattered about, guarded by a few armadillos and the occasional lonely pine, beautified, at most, with a few wild dandelion flowers and dusty moths, within earshot of crickets that have no concept of when they should actually be chirping. But hey… we’re talking about the road to paradise.

I’m going to take a little time every day. Call it self care. Call it a mental health minute. Call it whatever gets you from here to there, because I’m inviting you to join me. Do one thing for yourself today. And then do one thing for the world. Because we all need to step back, take a moment, and look for the threads that hold us together rather than the chains that keep us apart. Threads are fragile. Chains aren’t. Think about it.

  1. If there are earwigs on the path to paradise, I don’t want to go. :shudder: Those things are gross.

Yes, social media is a cesspool right now. I’ve managed to drain my swamp for the most part on FB, and I’m staying away from Twitter. But they’re the best free marketing I have right now, so I’m still there.

Definitely take a mental health minute here or there when you can. I do it all the time. If I didn’t, I think I’d be a crispy critter inside in no time. Today, I might go fishing. It’s cool and I’m hoping the fishies are hungry. Then it’s back here for more work. That back matter won’t update itself, ya know. I’ve got five books done and three left to do. After that, I can start writing again. Yay!

Here’s hoping the cooler temps brings hungry fishies to the surface! 😉 I need to get off the hamster wheel and get focused on the other stuff I have to do. I have a release the first of October. I have two books to finish, one releasing on Halloween, the other with a mostly-patiently waiting editor. That one is just sitting there, staring at me like a two-year-old ready to throw a tantrum.

I wonder if the Universe actually meant ear worms? 😉

Got something to say?
