On a December Monday

Christmas is coming. And Hanukkah. The Winter Solstice. Kwanzaa. The weather feels more like winter in Florida though we’re supposed to get a cool snap starting tonight. I’m ready for some seasonal weather. I miss snow. Crazy, I know, because I gritch about it starting the second day it’s on the ground. Whatever. I’ve bought a box of Christmas cards. I’ll get them addressed and mailed soon. Maybe. So…anyway…

Football! Of the collegiate variety. (I don’t pay attention to the NFL because…reasons.) Anyway, OU is #2 in the playoff rankings and will play #3 Georgia in the Rose Bowl. Go Big Red! #17 OSU (The REAL OSU) plays #22 Virginia Tech in the Russell Athletic Bowl in Orlando on December 28th. GO POKES! If your team is playing in a post season bowl game, Play On!

Writing! I typed THE END to Tucker’s story, which is tentatively titled THE BILLIONAIRE’S BABY CAPER. It came in at just over 50K after some last minute edit/rewrites/deleting. I need to edit hard this week to get it around 48K so I have room to fix things my editor finds. Up next writing wise is the proposal for Cooper’s book, THE TYCOON’S TORNADO TWINS. Then it’s on to other things. Not sure what things but…things.

TV! Hallmark movies. What can I say? Sh’up. I know. And yes, I keep the box of Kleenex handy because I’m a sucker for this shit stuff.

Reading! Or…listening. I’ve started a couple of MC books I downloaded from Audible on their Romance subscription. I’d started one back in the beginning but DNF’d it. The one I’m currently listening to is RAVAGE ME by Ryan Mischele, book 1 in the Ravage MC series. I like both narrators a lot so I’m hanging in there. The story is…well…we’ll see how it goes. I’m about halfway through and while I’m not compelled to listen to it while disregarding everything else, I do listen betwixt and between. I’ll see how it goes.

Christmas! I got the evergreen garland up on the front porch, along with the door wreath. I dusted the Christmas tree. I have to wait on the rest of the outdoor lights until the yard guy finishes blowing and bagging leaves. I line the flowerbeds with lights and that’s where the remaining leaves are piled up. I hope to get the mantel and dining room table done today. When I’ve had my fill of chopping words out of the MS. 😆

In the meantime, where are y’all in your shopping, decorating, baking, addressing, Christmas preparations?

  1. I have done zilch for Christmas, except for Mom – whose present from us siblings will be delivered today. And I wouldn’t have even been that far along if the Big Sis hadn’t rolled the ball there. I have cards somewhere around here and I really need to get those out. I need to order MIL’s gift so it gets there in time… like now. I need to send the Kid’s check. Gah! I’m not ready for it to be December yet.

    Ugh. I need a nap.

I did finally get started making edit notes for Early Grave, so that’s something.

No football here still. Although I did get a chuckle about the Buckeyes not only not being in the hunt for the championship, but also not getting the Rose Bowl. Yay for writing progress! Yay for reading (listening, whatevs)! =o)

Edit notes are good. Christmas is going to be…interesting. I did get the lights up on the porch. I need a nap too and it’s only 10 am. Ugh. I’m trying to get into the swing of the season but so far, I resemble Charlie Brown’s tree. :/

Yard done. Not doing inside. Hubby has an old fashioned ceramic tree in his room and since that is where I will spend Xmas eve and most of Xmas day, why bother. Besides, my house is a wreck with all the projects going on. I actually need to finish at least one. Very little present shopping except for the youngest grandsons. The adults are all getting their AAA. I bought The Spawn this huge media/DVD center to put all her Funko Pops on. She bought me a new gas stove, which comes next week. Hence the finishing up of some projects need. You should have your card by now. I don’t think I have ever gotten them done this early.

Maybe in the mail today. Our new postman is… Well, he’s….yeah. Whatever. Yay on the new stove! I want one! That’s not happening anytime in the near (or far) future. Sending good thoughts to Hubby. And you! ❤

Oh, and I cleaned out my gmail inbox so maybe, just maybe, I won’t have over 13k emails I never read.

Got something to say?
