Thursday Thoughts: Universal Firsts

Vintage inscription made by old typewriter, life is full of possibilities

2020. Perfect vision. Which is why I’m looking ahead. 2019 is behind us. Lessons learned. I hope. Things have to change. I have to figure out a new headspace, a new way of thinking and doing. The Universe has pretty much made me a map. Time to pay attention.

Basically, Silver, change comes from thinking thoughts you’ve never thought before and showing up to meet them down streets you’ve never walked before.

You ready for some firsts? Are you?

Didn’t you know I yodeled, Silver?

Time to think new thoughts. Do new things. Walk down streets I’ve never walked before. I hope you’ll take that walk with me. Are you looking forward or backwards? And what first will you attempt in this new decade?

  1. Yep yep yep. New year, new attitude – what we’re chanting here at Sanderson, Inc. LLC. And “don’t want to? Too bad, do it anyway.’ Also, ‘if you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always gotten’. While remembering ‘insanity is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results’. Things gotta change and if we work hard at it, then even if it doesn’t work out like we hope, then we can at least hold our heads up high.

I’m full of platitudes today. And they’re more for me than anything else. I have a drill sergeant in my head shouting those things at me.

Right now, I’m not looking forward or backward. The past has passed and the future is uncertain. I can only control today, so I’m focusing on today. What can I do *today* to accomplish my goals? Checking things off the to-do list and moving on. Of course, everything I do today moves me toward future goals, but I’m trying not to focus on those. Get through every today and it’ll add up at some point.

    Oo-rah!

“What can I do *today* to accomplish my goals?”

Precisely! Each day–TODAY, not tomorrow, not yesterday–is full of possibilities. Will I grab one or more and move forward, or will I squander them? I’m working hard to keep the mindset that I will use the day’s possibilities. New words. New projects. New…something different from the way I was doing it before because yeah…that “daffynition” of insanity. The books are closed on last year. Moving on now. We’ll do an accounting some day in the future. Oo-rah! Upward and onward!

Got something to say?
