This has been a long week and it’s only Thursday. When things get dark, I tend to look for signs. And lo and behold, the Universe decided to toss me one. Of course, it’s not really telling me anything I didn’t already know but hey, the reminder is appreciated all the same. Because sometimes, we need to be reminded. I too often lett what’s out there *sweeps hand out* affect what’s in here. *taps head* This is something I need to work on, according to the Universe.
Pssst… Hey, gorgeous! Want to know a secret?
Everything in your life is a symbol, Silver.
A reflection. A clue. A reminder.
Of what you understand, and of what you don’t, made manifest.
Look to the beauty for truth. And to what hurts, for its beauty.
Your biggest fan,
The Universe
© http://www.tut.com ®Oh, yes indeed, Silver, life is fair. As fair as it is beautiful. Though this can’t always be seen from too close, in terms of either time or space.
And isn’t that the crux of things? That sometimes we’re too close to really see? That old saying, “You can’t see the forest for the trees” is oft-quoated for a reason. It’s time to look inward and focus outward. Or look outward and focus inward. Whatever works. As writers, we need to remember to look for the truth in our words, to find the beauty in our stories, no matter how hard those words are to come by, no matter how difficult it is to create. As I said above, I’ve got to shove away reality and retreat into the worlds I can control and dream and create. Because my words will affect other people, and I need to be mindful of that. Gah! I totally dislike that word. Mindful. 🙄 The morning traffice reporter usees that word every other sentence. But in this case, I can’t think of one that works better. So I’ll be mindful of my words. And hopefully, my words will be mindful of me. What about y’all? Are you too close to see the whole story?
:hugs:
Would circumspect work for you in place of mindful? “the surveying of all possible consequences before acting or deciding.”
Circumspect is such and awesome word! People, especially these days, should be more circumspect! 😉 I’m thinking maybe…vigilant, given the times. Or perhaps cognizant. Now if I can get them to stick in my brain. LOL
