Falling Into Monday

Tomorrow is the Autumnal Equinox, when light and dark are balanced, equal. After that, the days grow shorter, the nights longer, and we face that stupid shifting of time in about a month. I love Fall, but for that stupidity. Anyway. Today is the last day of summer. Happy Fall, Y’all!

So, a week ago, I had edits/revisions on the next Red Dirt Royalty book for Harlequin Desire. Got those turned in on Monday of last week. Late Thursday, I got the final set of edits–the ones where all the typos, skipped words, and word changes have to be made because that puppy heads to the typesetters for printing ASAP. On Friday, I got started. And I finished up yesterday afternoon and emailed it back to NY. Yayayay. Today, I’m back to work on NIGHT WISH because in 10 days, I have to start on FIGHTING FOR JUSTICE. Wish me luck! My brain needs to kick into high gear and Iffy needs to get on a chocolate high or something.

Audio book listening went fairly well last week, too. Mostly stuck with my marathon of the In Death books. I’m currently on INDULGENCE IN DEATH. I’m ahead on my Goodreads Challenge so Yay!

My Cards are hanging in there. They haven’t given up the ghost yet on grabbing a play-off spot in this crazy season that befits this crazy year. My OSU Cowboys won–barely–on Saturday. I have this thing about being a jinx so when I’m watching a team that I cheer for and they start doing not so good, I change the channel or put in earplugs and don’t watch or something. Believe it or not, over 50% of the time, the team comes back. Whew!

Been watching HGTV/DIY/DAM networks, often their house hunting type shows. I’ve decided I’d really like to live on the water somewhere. I just want to be able to look out, or sit on my deck or porch to see it. Lake, pond, creek, ocean. I’m not choosy. I don’t want to get in the lake, pond, creek, or ocean. I just want to look at it. Yeah. I’m weird.

So…writing, listening, sports, TV. Is there anything else in life? Not in my world. In the week ahead, there’s writing, listening, sports, and TV. Dude, I’m soooo exciting! What’s your week look like?

  1. First off… PUPPY! OMG, so cute! Okay, now that’s out of the way. Yay for you getting your writing chores done! Yay for reading! Yay for your teams! I know of a nice lake you could get a house on. :winkwink:

Well, yesterday, I finished the read-through, mark-up phase of edits. Today, I start inputting those notes. I hope to have something ready to send to betas by the first week of October. I sat down to read afterwards but the book was so old it started to fall apart in my hands. I guess my plan to read my set of old Erle Stanley Gardner hardcovers is out. I don’t want to risk damaging any of the others. But tonight is pizza night so I have that going for me. Thank goodness I already have dough made. The only other thing I can think of that I want to accomplish this week is weeding. Yay for cooler weather!

Make time to go fishing! And I totally get you on the old books! 😦 My true keepers? I bit the bullet and have them in paper, digital, and audio. Yay for pizza! Tuesday is pizza night around here.

Yes, I know that nice lake and if the kids lived closer, that would be an option. I can make frappucinos and home and save a ton of $$. 😆 Everytime I watch “Lakefront Bargain Hunters” I hope they’re doing an episode up there. So far…nope. Right now, the plan is to get closer to the kids to make things easier, since LG is home now, we don’t worry about his commute. Which all means we’ll probably just stay where we are. It’s paid for.

First week in October? Hrmmm….I might just be looking to take periodic breaks from my deadline writng… *hint-hint*

Have a good week! We’ll all do what we can do! ❤

      • There’s one episode of Lakefront Bargain Hunt on this lake that I’ve seen. It’s on the other side of the lake and way east of me, near the busier area, but it still gives you an idea of how lovely it is here.

LOL, thanks for the hint. I was wondering whether you’d have the time. I know you’re up to your armpits in alligators right now. :hugs:

Cool! I’ll have to watch for it. I know I’m weird because I just want water to look at. Heck, at this point, I’d settle for a koi pond. LOLOL

I can’t go fast because I can only read so much at a time–and that includes my own work, even on the big monitor with the sizes bumped. Stupid eyes. 😜 But yeah, I’m always here when you need me!

Leaf looks as big as the puppy 😉
Bring on Fall, I didn’t know that about Autumn
Equinox. I know Halloween when the veils are thin enough, with reference to contact or receive messages from passed loved ones.
I like Daylight Savings, but I know many that don’t.
Saturday weather was so nice low 80’s, light breeze, perfect weather to sod the one side strip on my house and a smal section off my deck. Took a full pallet ov St. August. Damn does it make a difference and looks more like a home. Now when I sit on my deck, I got pretty grass to look at. =)
    So that was my weekend.
Have a great day — Ladies

He is a cute puppers! The balance happens twice a year–the vernal (spring) equinox and the autumnal. The sun is exactly on top of the Equator so that day and night are exactly the same. Then there’s Midsummer’s Day, which is the longest day, ie. Summer Solstice (speaking of daylight) and the Winter Solstice, which is the longest night of the year. It’s also the first day of Yule. Probably waaay more info than you wanted. LOL

Yay for grass, cooler temps, and sitting on the deck relaxing. Sounds like a great weekend to me!
