Monday Madness

IgnoreMondayCatHow much longer for March Madness? At least one of the Oklahoma teams made it to the Sweet Sixteen. Good on you, ORU. It’s Monday again. The last one this month. The fact there have been FIVE Mondays in March is somewhat disheartening.

In other news, WordPress is turning into Facebook when it comes to makng things harder in order to “simplify.” Grrr. It didn’t need fixing, WordPress. FYI, WP is the platform this site is built on. They’ve messed up my classic “block” and dashboard and now they’re messing with the way I can display photos. Why?????

At least I got some new words over the weekend. Sinjen is having an existential crisis, Sade made an arse of herself, and the story is moving forward. I also have a new title–as opposed to the working title–and Only and I have agreed on an image and concept for the cover. Yes, I’m a big ol’ tease. But I don’t want to reveal too much until I’m waaay closer to typing The End than I currently am. I was shooting for the end of the month. Yeah…no. Now I’m taking it day by day. I finally have a clear vision for this damn book. Yeah, yeah. I know. About friggin’ time.

In other news, I read and loved B.E. Sanderson’s RUMOR HAS IT (Duke Noble, PI #1). If you are a fan of mystery/detective novels and small-town noir, grab this one! That’s the only new and exciting title. Otherwise, I’ve been indulging in a marathon re-listen of Jayne Castle’s Ghost Hunter/Harmony/Rainshadow series. They’re paranormal SciFi romance set on a distant planet and connect back to JAK’s contemporary and Amanda Quick’s historical paranormal romances under the Arcane Society umbrella.

TV has been…well, lets just say there’s a bunch on the DVR that I haven’t caught up with yet. My bad. I have no clue who got unmasked last week on The Masked Singer. And as much as I’ve been looking forward to Night Watch coming back to New Orleans, I haven’t found the time to watch. Part of the problem is the stupid time change. I’m awake and weird times and am often asleep before the late news comes on. I tried to watch something on the DVR last night and I hit fast forward at the first set of commercials and woke up an hour later to the screen asking if I wanted to delete, start over, or save. 🥱😪😴

Opening Day is in less that a week. BASEBALL! I do wish the sports channels would show more college baseball and softball. And I’ve already mentioned the whole madness thing. Have no clue who made it into the Elite Eight, or are we already to the Final Four? Anyway, I’ve been watching my Cardinals when I can catch them on the tube.

Not much else going on around here. Still waiting to see what parts of the landscape survived the deep freeze. I have some hope that there is life out there in the yard. My goal this week is to write every day. And not just “piddle” writing, but real, meaningful scenes that move the book forward. This thing has driven me batty long enough. What are your goals for the week?

  1. Yay for your basketball team! Sorry WordPress is being a turd. Blogger keeps ‘making things easier’, too, which just makes things harder. Yay for new words and a new title! Yay for loving Rumor Has It! Sorry your TV viewing has been off. Yay for baseball, although I’d be more excited if they weren’t trying to catch up to football in the woke department. Bleh. Fingers crossed for your landscaping. And Go, You! you can do it!

I have a to-do list I started on Saturday. My goal is to finish it this week. Although… I keep adding things to it, so I guess as long as I get the original list completed, I’ll be content. And I just added more things – creating paperbacks for the books that don’t have paperbacks yet. Woohoo. I’m getting there. The proof for Duke’s paperback will arrive today and if it’s correct, then I’ll set that up for sale. I got my container garden started yesterday. Go, me. I’ve been up since 3 this morning, so there is definitely a nap in my future.

Ugh on the early wake-up call. I feel your pain. I gave up at 5:30. Yay on the to-do list. You got this. Yay for container gardens–are you going to try for onion sets on top of your original tomatoes, carrots, and lettuce? Yay for paperbacks! I totally need to get the rest of mine set up. Ugh. First things first–finish GaTAS. Imma gonna just leave that there as a tease. 🤣

More coffee, then blog roll and then words. I got through what I thought was going to be a transition chapter and it turned into something significant and sets up the next action. Yay Iffy! Sometimes, my Muse actually earns what I pay her. 😉

      Have a great week!
