Tuesday Treats & Titles: Peppermint Shakes

St. Patrick’s Day is coming! I switched out the door wreath on February 28th. Not that I have anything against Valentine’d Day but I ❤ St. Patrick’s Day. According to my DNA test, I do have a lot of Irish in me and it’s not just of the alcohol variety. 🤣 Anyway, I’m all about the shamrocks and since quite of few of my Wolves have Irish/Celtic roots, they like March too.

Toast St. Patrick’s Day with this refreshingly frosty minty milkshake.

YIELDS:
2 servings

TOTAL TIME:
0 hours 5 mins

INGREDIENTS
2 1/2 c. vanilla bean ice cream, softened
1/4 c. milk
3/4 tsp. pure peppermint extract
3 drops green gel food coloring
Whipped cream and green sanding sugar, for serving

DIRECTIONS
In a blender, puree ice cream, milk, peppermint extract, and food coloring to combine.
If desired, top shake with whipped cream and sprinkle with sanding sugar.

If you’d like the nutritional details, check out this recipe from Woman’s Day. You’ll never guess who discovered this particular recipe, though you can probably figure out why she needs a recipe for this simple concoction…

“I heard that. I could too figure out how to make a stupid milk shake in the blender. I can make frozen margaritas. So there.”

Yeah, that would be our favorite wrangler of SpecOps Wolves, Hannah Jackson McIntire.

“And hey, I even watched my effing language. Just for your delicate ears. Even though I’ve heard you outcuss a sailor.”

Fine, Hannah. And thank you. I’m sure my readers who might be at work or have their kids hovering around the computer screen.

“Oh, and if you don’t have peppermint, you can use creme de menthe or my personal favorite, pepermint schnapps. Flavor to your personal taste.”

🙄 Yes, that’s me rolling my eyes. Anyway, I’m featuring MOONSTRUCK: SECRETS as our title today because it goes into more detail about Hannah and Mac’s early story than BLOOD MOON does. Could be time for a reread or a first read if you haven’t grabbed it yet. Just click on a pic with the books cover or the title. Question of the day: Do you like green food and drinks around St. Patrick’s Day?

  1. I love Hannah so much! Not a fan of peppermint, though, so she’s welcome to all the peppermint stuffs.

Green is my favorite color, but I don’t pay attention to St. Paddy’s Day anymore. Gah, I sound like such a Debbie Downer this morning, but I’m not. Not really.

I know you’re not. It’s a hermit thing that I totally get. My one “concession” to the world is the door wreath. LOL

And yeah, I’m more into the mint or Creme de Menthe than peppermint. If I’d been braining yesterday, I would have suggested mint chocolate chip cookie ice cream as a substitute. 😉

Love shamrock shakes from McDonalds, but will have to try this recipe. Then I can have green shakes year round.

Did my later growing up in an intensely Irish suburb of the Big Apple, so St Patrick’s Day brings a lot of memories. However, right now, sitting over in Norway, where we share a border with the eastern bear, just hoping to get to St Patrick’s Day…Lost a lot of sleep last night trading 8for the first time) the revised Montana Moon, and going to go on a Wolf binge as my guilty reality escape. We need some Irish Luck right now… By the way Silver, this way in cultural feed this morning, and thought of you (and the magic series too) immediately. https://www.heritagedaily.com/2022/03/magic-bowls-among-trove-of-ancient-artefacts-seized-in-raid/143005?amp

Oh, Risë! Sending good thoughts and prayers for your safety. That includes you specifically and ALL those around you and the country of Norway. I the words and thoughts I hold for the evil that infects the bear would probably get me on someone’s watch list. You are brave and strong and I’m glad my Wolves give you a safe place to hide for awhile. In case you don’t know, the rights to four more of my Wolf books and I’ll be updating/revising them for re-release in April, along with a new Hard Target book. The hero of the new book is a Wolf who first appears in BLUE MOON.

And OH! WOW!! Thanks for that link. AMAZING!!! And Iffy is nudging around the edges of it. One of the Hard Target team members is Israeli. Food for thought!

Take care of yourself and stay safe! ❤
