Considering the state of the world, I was looking for something that might be uplifting or hopeful in my stash of messages from the Universe. I admit, I often use Thursday Thought to share a message and apply it to my chosen profession. I initially saved this one because I write a lot of suspense. Bad things happen before the happy ending. That’s the craft lesson for today. And saying that, I find the message applies to what is happening out there, for better or worse.
Silver, of all the joys on Earth, few compare to the crowning glory of achieving against the odds, succeeding in the face of peril, or triumphing over adversity.
Wouldn’t you say?
Yet in every such case, without exception, the poor odds, the peril, and the adversity must come first.

Silver, feeling blessed?
In an odd way, I am. Yes, here in the US, inflation is punching us in the gut. Hard. But when I look at what is happening in eastern Europe and what the Ukrainian people are facing, and HOW they are coping with it? With such bravery? Have you seen the video of the little girl singing “Let It Go” in her native language from a bomb shelter? Did you see the strollers stacked with necessary items for babies lined up by Polish mothers at the train station for Ukrainian mothers to have? Yes, I’m sitting here with tears in my eyes as I type this. I don’t know why such terrible things happen–other than a mad man came to power and now no one will stand up to him but the brave people of Ukraine. I don’t know why his soldiers are shooting and bombing civilians–grandparents and mothers and children all trying to flee to safety. But there must be a reason And maybe it’s so we finally do something to make the world a better, safer place. In the meantime, I pray that those in harm’s way will indeed find the joys on Earth, including the crowning glory of achieving against the odds, succeeding in the face of peril, and triumphing over adversity.
