The Monday After

Y’all know how I feel about Daylight Saving Time. And yes, Saving is “singular.” No S on the end. The government just needs to leave Time well enough alone. And this whole “Save Daylight” movement? Nuh-uh. Nope. Just say no. Do those geniuses not realize that if you steal an hour from morning to add daylight to evening, you end up with dark at midmorning? I mean, seriously! What are they thinking?!?!! Just leave it alone the way it is right now because yes, we are back on REAL Time! Also, I only had to switch the clocks on the microwave and the coffeemaker. I’d left all the other non-electornic device clocks on real time. Yeah, I’m all lazy like that. But…now I’m so used to looking at the neon wall clock and adding an hour that I’m been confused on time since getting up yesterday. 🙄

In other news, sales for MOONLIGHT MAFIA: BOSTON haven’t been particularly awesome. Low numbers but steady which is something, I guess. I do wish readers would take the time to drop at least a rating if not a full review on the sites where they bought their copy. Y’all don’t realize how things like that affect the algorithms and boost visibility. 📚💲

Okay, end of whine. In other news. WEATHER! Holy Springtime, Batman! You’d thing it was May instead of November around here. Flooding rain and tornadoes over the weekend and more rain today. We NEED the rain so not complaining but Mother Nature could have left the swirly things tucked in the back of her closet. They missed us but the areas in the state–including the SW and SE-NE metro areas were hit hard. 😞🌪⛈

Stormy was here most of last week during school hours. He had/had walking pneumonia but got much better after his doc got him on some antibiotics. He was feeling good enough for a family dinner at our local pizza place to belatedly celebrate Only’s birthday. Good food, better company, and a cool moment for a family also eating there. Dad brought his daughter over right after we arrived to see what kind of dog Jake is and to ask if she could pet, which of course she could. Turns out they have a mini Pyrdoodle (Pyrenees miniature poodle mix and don’t ask me how that happened because…logistics! 😲 ) who was at a nearby emergency vet clinic having surgery because it ate a sock. Later, Dad came back with his younger son who wanted to pet the big dog and to let us know their pupper had come through fine and would recover fully. We were glad Jake could take the little ones’ minds off their pup.

I need to get back to work today after my Wallyworld run. I need to get MIDNIGHT CLEAR updated and uploaded to Draft2Digital for wide distribution on December 9th when it comes off Kindle Unlimited. That’s a matter of getting the backmatter switched over to blind links rather than ‘Zon links. Then I think I’m going to pull MOONSTRUCK GENESIS: RETRIBUTION off the back burner and finally get that “series” finished. That’s a matter of matching up two Moonstruck books, and a novella and adding some transitions. Aftet that, it’s a toss up between my other 3 series. I’ll see who starts jabbering at me the loudest.

I’m sure other stuff has happened but I’m still time deprived at the moment. How are the rest of you handling the time change?

Time changes… don’t get me started. Blerg, This one doesn’t hit me as bad as the Spring one, but still… Anyway, I’m sorry the sales haven’t been awesome. This book really deserves to have awesome sales. But hey, steady is good. Yeah, weather. It totally splooshed on us last night, complete with wind and boomers. Hubs checked the rain gauge and it was at 2.4 inches. Mother Nature needs to get on some sort of precipitation schedule and give us steady rain throughout instead of no rain for months followed by deluge. I’m glad Storm is doing better. Yay for eating out and for that other family who had good news and a comforting Jake to pet while they were waiting. Have fun with your work stuff. :hugs:

I bailed on Wallyworld today. The first weather alert went off at 3:30 and we were up and down with it until actual time to get up. Second wave hit hard in the southern part of the state. We’re sunny here now but I’ll wait until tomorrow for the grocery run. Glad y’all got the sploosh without the ouch!

Well, here in the northeastern corner of Oklahoma, I was awakened around 4 AM by the tornado sirens that the officials claim are only for people outdoors–who in their right mind would be outdoors at 4 AM in the midst of a severe thunderstorm? I think their protestations is just CYA for emergency managements all over the state.

Anyway, There was a circulation feature that passed over the entirety of Tulsa and finally touched down northeast of the county. However, when the sirens started “singing their song of (their) people,) I headed for the interior bathroom of my apartment and got in the bathtub for the first time. I had an AM radio tuned to 1170 AM, which now broadcasts the audio of the News On 6 (the local CBS affiliate with the best storm tracker team in Tulsa, IMHO,) my phone, and a flashlight. I then remembered that I had the News On 6 app on my phone so I opened that, too. I noticed that the app lagged anywhere from 90 seconds to two minutes after the audio on the radio, so I listened to the radio while watching the video on my phone.

I finally got back to sleep around 5:30 AM, planning to wake up around 6:30 AM to get ready for church. When I did, I had a headache, so I set my alarm for about 7:00 AM and went back to sleep. I messaged my son what I did and when I woke up, I found a message that he had already left for church. I went back to bed and got up around 9. thankfully, I didn’t miss church as we livestream the services, so I caught the third service. It isn’t the same, but it’s better than missing the whole thing.

We have 6’s sister station 9 down here. David, Lacey and the crew are our go-to weather gurus. Their radar beats NWS all to heck and David Payne is fun to watch. Totally agree on the chasers. Y’all have Von, we have Val (brothers don’cha know) plus all the rest. We’re so used to the tracks that we just watched where the rotation was and stayed in bed, knowing that it would miss us unless something crazy happened and if it did, we’d have time due to that amazing radar and the team. Same thing happened this morning starting at 3:30. Fun times. 😴💤💤💤

I am so happy to be back to real time too.

A strange thing happened here though. Neither my iPhone or the Spectrum box updated at 2 am. I didn’t pay any attention and thought it had. So, I got hubs up an hour early and Spunk was happy to get breakfast without delay 😊.

I saw the storms on the news. How awful. The weather this year has been crazy.

I’m glad Stormy is doing better and that you were able to celebrate Only’s birthday.

Pyrdoodle, that must have been interesting 😂.

    Have a nice afternoon.

I’m still trying to figure out the logistics of that Pyrdoodle. LOLOL Or would it be a Pyrenoodle? 😆 Weird on the electronics not updating. Since I was awake, both phone and Uverse boxes flipped. Glad Spunk was happy. Puppers and cattos don’t really understand time shfits. 🙄 All we got was rain which was desperately needed. And I’m enjoying the cooler weather. Hope all is well up your way!
