This cat is my spirit animal today. And yes, he rather resembles Pete when I wake him up because he’s decided to sleep between me and the edge of the bed and it’s the middle of the night and I have to go visit the litterbox. I can’t say for certain because it’s dark and I don’t turn on a light but I rather suspect this is his expression.
Not much going on. As I’m typing this (around 8 pm last night), I’m ready to go to bed. Saturday night was rough as my old friend Insomnia decided to drop by for a visit. It’s been quite a while and I wasn’t too enthusiastic about the visit but there yah go. So, yeah. Two reasons for setting this post up the night before–I might just get to sleep in ’til 7 or so if the cats stay quiet and we’re supposed to get weather moving in about that time. Chance of big storms and heavy rains. We’ll see what happens.
In other news, Only and I “bonded” over making her a ribbon skirt for her middle school’s Native Heritage celebration. It’s traditional garb in our tribes. She doesn’t really sew and my eyesight is bad when it comes to the up-close stuff–like threading the machine. Also, my sewing machine hasn’t been used in like…5 years. It was an adventure and took way more time then either of us anticipated but stuff happens. She’s got it, it fits, and she’s happy. Yay.
In the writing department, I got MIDNIGHT CLEAR updated and uploaded for wide distribution when it comes off Kindle Unlimited on December 8th. It’s up for preorder now, just in time for Christmas reading. That means I need to do another newsletter. Yippee. 🙄 I also got MOONSTRUCK: RETRIBUTION set up for working on. This is the last book in the Moonstruck Genesis series, which is made up of compilation books and include deleted scenes and all-new material. I hope to have it ready for release by the New Year.
I did a marathon listen of Darynda Jones’s Charley Davidson-Grim Reaper series. I finished all the Charley books (13 plus a collection from Reyes’s POV) and I have one novella left of the 4 she published “post-Charley and Reyes” through the 1001 Dark Nights franchise. Not sure where I’ll turn next.
And…that’s it. I need to scrounge up something to eat and go crash. See? I’m not even pretending that it’s tomorrow. 🙄 Yes, yes. Lots of eye rolling today. Anyway, if y’all have weather moving in, stay aware. Hope everyone had a good weekend and are looking forward to the upcoming week. Who’s ready to sleep in? 🙋🏼♀️

LOL about the cat. Yeah, that’s pretty much how I envision my smile looks this morning. Sorry about the insomnia. I hope you slept better last night and got a chance to sleep in this morning. Yay for bonding with Only! You’ll have to post pics of her in her garb. (or she will.) I hope you get loads of sales on these books. Yay for marathon book listening!
I guess we’re supposed to have rain here later. We got some last night. Nothing really scary or even interesting – just wet. Wet is good, especially after the three dry months we had. Ugh, I would’ve slept in if I could’ve, but alas, it wasn’t to be. As for this coming week? I have nothing planned other than trying to hit this editing hard so I can still kinda maybe have a chance on getting it done before the end of the month.
No sleeping in. Weather arrived about 5:30 and LG had a VA appt early. We got splooshed but the line moved fast so here and gone. I did meander this morning which is almost as good as sleeping in. 😉 You’ll probably get some of the rain we had if there’s any left when the front gets to y’all.
Love the cat! It really stinks when you can’t sleep. Sure hope you got to sleep in a little.
I only get about 3 hours a day. Hubs and body pains wake me so I just get up and make the most of it. Spunk likes that I’m up with him all night :).
Making the skirt actually sounds like it was fun to together.

You sound like LG on the sleeping. I tend to crash early and then up and down every couple of hurs after midnight. His best sleeping time is from pre-dawn to midmorning. Go figure. Yeah, the critters are always happy to have awake people–if they are awake. Sleeping critters? Not so much. 🤣 I’m not sure how you manage to functoin on so little sleep but good on you for doing all that you do!
