I meant to use this meme on New Year’s Day. I forgot. I obviously didn’t start drinking coffee early enough in the morning that day. However, since it speaks true, it’s appropriate every day. Am I right?
Also, if Friday the 13th is allegedly unlucky then what does that mean for Monday the 13th? Inquiring minds want to know.
Yes, I’m rambling. I’m also off for my six-month checkup with my eye surgeon. I’m getting the full treatment this morning–all the tests. Whoopee. Jake will have fun. Dr. K’s staff all love him. Also, LG is driving because I’ll have dilated eyes on the way home and Only has my Highlander. Her ‘Stang is feeling poorly.
In other news, I’ve started Part 2 of MOONSTRUCK: RETRIBUTION. I had a lot of fun rereading and adding to CHRISTMAS MOON (Part 1). I also managed to write the transition scent betweeen it athe next part in 250 words. See? All that practice with Thursday Threads is paying off. 😆 Anyway, I’m still shooting for the Valentine’s Day release. I really need to find a cover image and get it to Only for the cover design. Depending on how my eyes are doing later this afternoon, maybe I’ll check Deposit Photos. Not sure reading words will be possible so no editing.
I did something I don’t normally do. I rated one of my own books and wrote a review on Goodreads. Hey, I hadn’t really read CHRISTMAS MOON since I first wrote and published it in 2014. That’s a looong time. And I enjoyed the heck out of the book. So, there ya go. And yes. I gave myself 5 stars. I’m also feeling a bit nostalgic so I’m listening the Andre Norton’s Witch World series.
We got, for us, a lot of snow last Thursday and it didn’t really melt until Sunday. I stayed in. It was cold and damp and my knees hurt. It didn’t help that I’d banged them up in my Wednesday fall. Being old is bad enough. Being a klutz? Insult to injury and all that.
That’s about the sum total of my world. How’s your world adding up?

I’ll be thinking of you at your eye appointment. I’ve only had my eye dilated once and I HATED it. I didn’t have someone to drive me and hadn’t planned on the dilation. It was an interesting drive home.

It’s been very cold here and somewhat snowy. Our high tomorrow is supposed to be 16 with Lake Effect beginning in the afternoon. As I always say, it’s winter.

The lake effect snows are just wicked! So is the windchill. Ugh. I admit, we’re wusses down here. Then again, my dad (who grew up on a ranch in Wyoming and then highschool and college in Colorado) said he didn’t know what cold was until he transferred down here to OU.
Driving with dilated eyes is definitely an adventure! I had the halo and the orange tint that all florescent lights pick up.

The sum of my world is waking up to Finn having potty issues. I think he’s not drinking enough water. I think he’s better now, but we’ll see what tomorrow brings. I just finished making a marketing graphic for tomorrow, so I’ve got that going for me. I also did some edit notes today, so yay.
I ended up having to make a couple of graphics for today. I miss the days when I could just publish a book, throw up the cover and talk about it and people bought it. Ah well.
Eyes are mostly okay. Pressure is down which is good for glaucoma but there’s some other stuff–nothing serious, just irritating.
And I’m a klutz. Always have been. LOLOL
Poor Finn. I hope he’s all better. Do they get gushy food? That sometimes helps with the liquid intake. Cats are weird. I give Loki the “oil” from Pete’s gushy pate (Loki will NOT eat gushy food) mixed with a little water. Maybe that will help with the liquid intake? Hope he’s all better soon! ❤
Finn’s at the vet’s getting checked out. No blockage, so we’re not sure what the deal is. Now we wait. Yeah, they get gushy food every day – Sawyer eats more of it than Finn, but still. I think it’s our hard water, so I picked up some purified stuff on my way home. I should be able to pick Finn up at 2:30. :fingers crossed:

I have spent the last week trying to register for a DMDC account so I can get my new ID before the 31st. The usual place I go has had their machine down for 4 months. Government efficiency at its best. It keeps telling me they can’t find me in DEERS. Ugh. Turning 65 sucks.
I am going to need lots of coffee. And I tried to quit.
Ugh. Bureacracy at its finest. 🙄 Where’s that sarcasm font when we need it? Anyway, good luck! I ran into something of the same when I “upgraded” to a Real ID. My regular DL had expired while I was in the hopsital/recuperating. I drove for about 2 weeks before I realized the oops and then it took almost a month to get on the list.
