The sun is still shining. And the temps are staying more seasonal. Okay, it is February and we are still in Winter but that means it could be anywhere from 5 degrees to 75 degrees here in Okieland. I’ve enjoyed the past few days with the nice temps. Even the “cold” front that came through yesterday didn’t really put a dent in things. Oh, we dropped from 78 to 65, but hey! It is February. LOL What does this have to do with anything? Well, it sort of boils down to this. Sometimes things work out, sometimes they don’t. And as always, the Universe has thoughts.
Whenever something doesn’t work out the way you thought it would, Silver, instead of thinking that something went wrong, see it as something that went unexpectedly well but for reasons that are not yet apparent.
Everything plays to your advantage.
Score!

Writers often paint themselves into corners when they’re plotting and putting words on paper–figuratively speaking since we mostly use computers. 🙄 The door is all the way over there with no chance of getting to it without having to completely repaint/rewrite that floor/scene. Sometimes, there’s a window that provides an escape. And sometimes that window opens up in a whole new vista that takes you in directions you never anticipated. And more often than not, your book is better for this detour. Our subconscious often knows better than we do. I’ve learned to do just what the Universe suggests: I keep on keepin’ on. I’ve found, at my ripe old age, that it’s a pretty good philosophy and keeps me truckin’ on down the road, whether it’s the book I’m writing or just getting on with life. What about y’all? Do you like detours?

I’m one of those regimented people and don’t like detours at all. I have learned to work with them, but I don’t like them.
It’s nice that it’s warming up. We warmed up a bit for a couple days. We were into the upper 40’s but are headed back to the 20’s this weekend and low teens overnight.
I hope your day is going well.
In your circumstances, I totally understand why detours would throw everything out of whack! Glad you got a bit of a warm up but yeah, it’s still winter for a bit longer. Hang in there!
