A Monday in June

Well, there was a weekend. Friday started off with storm dragons and interrupted sleep. The dang dragons got stirred up again on Saturday early morning. This included torrential rains, wind, and tornado sirens. We came through fine, just sleep deprived.

Saturday, I woke up to a very cool email from someone I admire. It’s a long story but this particular author and I have exchanged numbers and texted and are developing a friendship. You can’t ever have too many friends and when you have a bit of a fangirl crush to boot, it’s beyond cool.

Due to the weather, First Saturday and lunch was canceled. There was supposed to be more bad stuff moving in Sunday afternoon but it mostly all stayed north and south of us. That does not upset me. As I’m setting this up Sunday evening, I won’t report the actual final weather outcome until I reboot the computer because…lightning and stuff. Don’t need to fry it.

I did write this weekend. More than 250 words at a pop, even. I expanded and finished one chapter and wrote another. There’s been a twist. Thanks Titania, for the curve ball. Could you at least explain why? No, no. That would be too easy. 🙄

There really isn’t much else to relate. No reading. Which is a bummer. I have two different books open and all I’ve done is switch between them because neither is holding my attention. Which is sad because both are good books. I’m just in that weird headspace again. Oh! I was productive. I did laundry. Go me! I even put it up instead of leaving it folded in the basket for days. Don’t ask me why I do that. I have no clue. I mean, I fold and hand the clothes as they come out of the dryer. The hanging stuff makes it to the closet but the folded stuff just sits there in stacks, patiently waiting. It’s like I fold the last item, grab the hanging stuff to put up and then never go back to get the folded. What’s up with that?

On that note, I need to check my messages. I mean, I’d hate to miss Monday’s call and all. What did y’all do this weeken?

Stupid storm dragons. Go away. And take your splooshy friends with you. Yay for a cool email! I hope you weathered last night’s crap without anything frying. Yay for writing! I really need to stop saying I need to write and just do it. LOL about your folded laundry. Mine sits on top of my dresser for days, so I’m right there with you.

The weekend was rainy. I did some gardening stuff between rains, so it’s all good. Other than that, not much went on. Yesterday, I saw in one of my writers’ groups where someone was looking for an objective reader for his son’s work, and he seems like a good guy, so I volunteered. I got the book via email and sent it to my Kindle. I was just going to look at it and ended up reading it for over two hours. The story just drew me in and wouldn’t let go. I didn’t finish it, but I’ll rectify that shortly. It’s nice to be able to get excited about a newbie’s work and support him in his efforts. =o)

Oh that is so awesome! About the book. I NEED a book to hook me like that! Good on you for helping the next generation along. I’m sure Dad will appreciate it. We should be dragon free for a bit now. I’m ready. Sorry y’all are so splooshy. Our lakes and rivers are up and drought is done. For…about a week. 🤣

As for the laundry and other things, you ARE my sister from a different mister. Just sayin’… Also, go write a book! Me, too!

I’m sorry the storm dragons caused First Saturday and lunch to be cancelled. It always sounds like a good time.

Good to have Sunday storms go around you.

This weekend C came over and measured to quote materials to replace the deck. It’s going to cost me a fortune. Saw C and C Saturday afternoon and got to see the ring on her finger. It looks perfect. I think my mom would be very happy. It sounds like they want to get married next May at the Blue moon. Because they’re rare she thinks it would be a really cool time to get married.

We had super heavy rain this morning and it’s supposed to be back this evening along with winds. Then it turns sunny and hot. Gotta love weather.

    Have a great afternoon 😊.

AWWWW. Yay for puttin’ a ring on it and it and it being perfect. C&C are all kinds of awesome and deserve the best! And how romantic–finding that kind of love only happens once in a blue moon. 🥰

The weather is absolutely schizo these days! Hope y’all dry out and hope your deck comes in under budget! Have a great week!
