Monday – One, Me – Zero

Actually, it’s not that bad. It’s the first Monday of the month. This is a crazy-busy week. I’m up and headed out the door with barely a sip of coffee. That’s going to make for a long morning.

First, I have declared this to be AuGoWriMo, which stands for August Go Write More Month. Which I guess–technically–should be AuGoWriMoMo. Anyway, while I have no word count goal–daily or monthly total–but I would like to have this dang book finished. That won’t happen unless I put my butt in the chair, stay off the interwebz and spit the story out of my imagination. To that end, I have written a little bit each day and I’ll write some today when I get back.

Today is VA day. LG is having a procedure done and they insist he have a driver. That would be me. It’s nothing serious but they will put him partially under. It’s just more tests as they continue to work on diagnosing some of his new symptoms. Jake and I will go and sit in the waiting room. I’ll try to listen to the book I’m currently listening to but because Jake will be with me, there will be lots of peopling involved. *shudder* But we all gotta do what needs to be done, right?

Also coming up this week is our anniversary. It’ll be number 42. We don’t have any special plans. We’ll talke about it at some point.

I’m currently doing a relisten of Thea Harrison’s Elder Races series. It’s been several years and I’m enjoying them. Again. DRAGON BOUND, the first book in the series is a lot of fun. I’m currently listening to STORM’S HEART, about a thunderbird and a dark fae. Next up is SERPENT’S KISS, about a griffin and the vampire queen. Fun times.

In nature news, I FINALLY saw a hummingbird at the feeder. I was excited. I know they’ve been there because I have to refill it but I’d only glimpsed what might have been. Yesteday, I saw one land and sip. Yay. We also had a brief cool-down over the weekend and a brief rainfall on Sunday morning.

This was also First Saturday weekend but plans for siren test and family lunch were rearranged. Only had a school workshop that was four hours on Saturday so someone else covered her siren. Since there was no family lunch as a result, I stayed home. It worked out because I did get a couple of scenes fleshed out and a chapter moved from “write it” to “needs edits.” That’s progress.

On that note, gotta get ready to head out. Hope y’all had a great weekend and that the work goes well for us all.

AuGoWriMoMo… say it out loud… rofl. How about we just say August Go Write Month? Go. Write. The more is implied. I did better yesterday on the writing than the first two days and added over 1200 words, so yay. We can do this! Sorry your day is going to be peopley. I hope they figure out what’s up with LG. :hugs: Happy early Anniversary! No two people deserve a happier day. Yay for fun reads and hummingbirds! Bummer about missing family lunch but yay for fleshing stuff out.

The weekend was okay here. It was definitely cooler, which helped. It’s hard to get motivated when it’s so damn hot. Thanks to cooler temps, I got motivated early and then my gumption came back later in the day. Here’s hoping I can keep that gumption going today.

Any day in August under a 100 is okay by me. Under 90 is a blessing. Go gumptiom, go! <*looks around, can't find pompoms, shakes invisible ones*

We finally got home. Busy days. Lots of stuff happening. Va is a pain in the patootie but necessary.

No writing for me today, but I did figure out that the start of Chp 6 now needs to be chap 7 and that’s okay. I need the “extra day” in the time line and I know what will happen in the new chapter 6. S’all good.

I need a nape but it’s 5 pm. Tomorrow will be all fingers on keys for a marathon writing session for whatever the heck we’re calling this month. AGW. There. That’s short. Laters!

Enjoy your “peopling” day as much as possible, Silver. I’ll hold down the fort!

I hope all went well at the VA and LG is doing well.

I understand how people don’t “get it” and come up to Jake even though he’s a service dog. One time while at the drug store a dog came in and hubs went over and I called him back. The lady was great and thought me a thing or two. Her dog was a “comfort dog” for nursing homes and hospitals. It was okay for hubs to go pet him, which made him very happy.

Sorry you didn’t get to have lunch with the family Saturday but things come up. It’s nice that you were able to take advantage of the time and get words done.

    I loved the Elder Races.

Good on the hummers. My hummers have been very vocal. They yell at me when I take the feeders in at night and the buzz my head. In the mornings they thank me. Now the NASTY wasps have come back. They showed up Friday for the first time and they are attacking my birds. I just sprayed them with peppermint oil. It slowed them down but didn’t stop them from going to the feeders. I wish I could get rid of them.

I got some windows washed and it looks so nice.

    Have a great afternoon.

We’re too far south (and hot) to have many hummers around. We get them mostly during migration times. Jake isn’t a medic alert dog and we’ve used him as a therapu dog for 1st responders and vets with PTSD. I really don’t mind and he is great for de-

stressing so a lot of the employees want to pet. He doesn’ tmind it. It’s me. Having to talk to people and make small talk. Gah! *muppet flail* I’d rather just plug in my earbuds and listen to a book.

We’re home. I don’t habe to people again until I have to get groceries come Thursday.

Glad you got some windows washed. I’m sure you have a much clearer view of life. 😉 Have a great evening!
