Thursday Thoughts: Asking for a Friend

It’s Thursday. Already. How did that happen? The good news is, there has been progress on the dang book. That may end up being the title: ARIEL’S DANG BOOK! What do you think?

On a more serious note, let’s talk plotting and planning and puzzling, oh my! I can all but guarantee that if you ask any author what’s the first question they ask themself about a new project, their answer will be “What if?” These two words open up worlds and plots, places, people. It’s how we get from here to there, no matter how circuitous the path. Writer’s block? We ask, “What if this…?” Granted, some of the ideas get tossed but often enough we hit the correct compass point and we’re off again. As always, the Universe has thoughts:

Ask your questions, Silver!

They’re one of the best ways to get our attention.

And one of the best ways to focus yours.

Needing to be needed,
The Universe

P.S. And then, Silver… listen for the answers.

Sometimes, that last bit is the hard part–the listening for the answers. And that’s true whether you are seeking answers as a writer or as a normal person. And yes, the deliniation is deliberate. Writers are not normal people. Anyway, thanks for coming to my TED Talk. Any questions?

I saw that word “puzzling” and thought, ‘Oh boy! She’s gonna start working puzzles with me!!’ 😁

I think the listening for the answer is always the hardest part for me. I have a tendency to keep my mind closed. Not a good thing and I am working on it 😉.

I think I like the working title – Ariel’s Dang Book. He’s been very difficult at times – it fits 😊.

Oh, I can’t believe you were able to wear flip flops the other day. I’m happy for you. My feet would really like to come out and say “Hi” to the world.

    Have a great day!

We hit 70 again today but I was too lazy to dig out the flips and just stayed in the socks and slippers. I’ve threatened to rename PITA Pup from Toby to Ariel. Ari just stuck his tongue out at me. There was movement on the book today, along with some insolence on his part, effing fae! 😉 Hope warmer weather wends your way soon!

And yes, sometimes, you just need to stay quiet, listen, and find a little peace when you lest expect it. ❤
