The weather is beautiful. The windows are open and I’m only sneezing occasionally but that’s okay. It’s worth it! I like open windows. I like the fresh air blowing through my office. Loki likes the windows open too. It’s more fun to bird watch when you can hear and smell them. Anyway. It is Wednesday. I have words. The prompt from last week’s Thursday Threads is: *“There’d be a next time.”* And guess what?!!? I know exactly where this scene fits. It’s in Chapter 19. And that’s all I’m going to say because there’s a LOT that is revealed. The fun part though is…well, just read the sippet.

Sinjen stared at Sade, not quite believing what he’d heard. “You did what?”
“I arrested Titania.”
“On what charges?”
“Crimes against humanity.”
“Can you be more specific?”
“Why? Did she hire you as her defense attorney or something?”
He closed his eyes for a moment and rubbed his forehead. “Where is she?”
“Probably back in Vegas. Or the Fae realm. Don’t know, don’t care.”
“You released her?”
“Of course I did. I’m not stupid, Sinjen.” Besides, she knew there’d be a next time. The thought of another confrontation with the Fae queen almost made her smile.
The vampire rubbed the back of his neck as he watched her from beneath thick lashes. “I wasn’t implying that you were.”
“The Fae are in this up to their eyebrows. Titania is a royal bitch. Ariel isn’t acting like himself. There’s a human woman who may not be human—” She paused to hit Nikos with a stare. “Though I’m not too sure of my source on that one.”
The dragon smirked. “Your source is impeccable. She is mostly human, Sade. Like you are mostly human.”
“What does that even mean? I’m human. Period. My father is human. My mother is human. That makes me human.”
Shrugging, Nikos turned his attention to Caleb. “My sense of smell is better in my true form but I picked up faint traces from the librarian.”
“Somebody tell me about this librarian and explain the hold she seems to have on Ariel.”
Nikos did so. “Ariel has been following her. Her name is Aisling Goodnight.”

In other progress news, I’ve crossed the 60K mark. I’d originally estimately this book to run about 65K with 20 to 25 chapter. Yeah…no. I think it will be closer to 75K and as many as 30 chapters. Only time and writing will tell. In the meanting, writers, be inspired and write if you are. Readers, have you ever not finished a book and then come back to it later and discover that whatever irked you about it originally no longer does and you’re actually enjoying the “reread”? And that sentence isn’t convoluted. Much. 😆
