It’s Monday. Again. But that’s okay. I’m ready for the week! While I’m waiting on edits for ROGUE MOON, I’m restarting an old project today. Actually–I’m starting a new one, too. First up is the revamp of SEASON OF THE WITCH. That squealing and thumping of feet? Yeah, that’s me doing the happy dance. 😉 I have MISSED the world of Penumbra. The other project is also part of Sade’s story. I participated in a writing prompt several long weeks ago and a whole new idea for a novella popped into my head. My readers will get to visit Sade as she investigates the case that leads to the formation of the FBI’s MAGICAL unit. I definitely see a lot of coffee in my future!
Weekend wrap up: I started and finished Jeaniene Frost’s TWICE TEMPTED. Her take on Vlad Dracul is one I really like, and he fits nicely into her Cat & Bones world. I also came up on the list to download Lara Adrian’s ninth Midnight Breed novel DEEPER THAN MIDNIGHT at the library. I snatched it and read through the storms last night. I’ll likely be finished by the time y’all read this. Not sure what’s next on my list.
OKRWA was fascinating with a heart-breaking but informative program by a professor at OU. Dr. Avila spoke on human trafficking. Two of our members are using elements of trafficking in current WIPs. I have the feeling it will make an appearance in one of my future Penumbra Paper books. *nods* And speaking of writing, I submitted a MS to a publisher. That’s all I’m saying right now. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
Despite all the bad news last week regarding how stupid and effed up the US government is, I leave you with this heartwarming and uplifting story on how a state office and a private organization teamed up to do something really good! Click to read the story. Marine reunion
I don’t know about you other writers, but Iffy was bouncing on her toes in excitement, so there may be a variation of this theme at some point. Here’s to surviving Monday! Now where did I lose my coffee mug? *wanders off looking distracted*

I like that you’re starting the week off with excitement instead of dread. 😉
I’d already read that Marine story and told Long Suffering about it because I was so moved, but I still read it again, lol.
I’m sorry you’re having to start off caffeine free, JB! I’m not sure I could survive and I sure wouldn’t be happy. Of course, it helped that I slept late this morning. I’m off to a slow start but that’s okay! 🙂
Yay for writing and for reading and for informative programs. And yay for weathering yesterday’s storms. The radar looked pretty nasty from here. Despite all the rumblings of weather doom, we didn’t get a drop of rain (but we’re under a flood watch – go figure).
Have an awesome Monday and I hope finding that mug wasn’t too hard. Coffee is an essential ingredient to a successful Monday.
That one in Edmond got a little too close for comfort to The Only. They lost power but it was restored last night. They live pretty close to City Hall so yay for proximity. Found the mug. I’d left it in the microwave after heating my soy milk. 😆
Hoping today’s round of storms is NOTHING like yesterday’s! You’re in the watch area today, right? Keep an eye out!
Wow – you are excited for Monday!!! Sounds like you have all your ducks in a row and are ready to fly with your WIPs (and Iffy is right by your side – yay!). Have a great week – off to read the link, thanks!!!
As you well know, Janet, Sade and Sinjen are some of my favorite characters, along with the world I built to put them in. I AM excited! I’ve waited a long time to get back to work on this series. 😀 *happy dances*
