Yes, it’s Hump Day. Who’s seen that insurance commercial with the camel? I’m not going to mention the company by name but it has a gekko as a part-time spokesthing. I have to admit I laugh.
Me? I’m working on getting ready for RWA Nationals. Putting swag together. Finalizing plans for the NRCA reception, meeting up with friends, and figuring out which workshops to attend. It also means lots of errands while I make arrangements for critters and housesitters, getting wardrobe x 2 ready…dang…laundry! BRB…
Yeah…laundry. My favorite thing. Not! 😆 Anyway, I don’t have much to say but you might want to check the “control panel” up top. I’ve added some news, the Penumbra Papers has its own tab now, and if I remember correctly, there are a couple of pics up on Heroes and Villains. In case anyone is interested…
This Friday, there will be more from the Bucket list, and the same the following Friday. In the meantime, I’ll be pretty quiet. I’ll try to update on Twitter and Facebook as I have time and internet connection. Internet is always at a premium during RWA! Doing updates from my iPhone is always an exercise in frustration but I’ll try.
If you are anywhere near Atlanta next Wednesday, I’ll be the Literacy signing. Here are the DETAILS.
Here’s your question for the day… What author would you most like to meet? (And you don’t have to mention me. I figure if you’re hanging out here, that’s a given! 😉 ) I want to know your Bucket List author(s). Me? I’ve been lucky enough to meet most of mine!

‘What day is it?”
“it’s Hump Day”
“Woot! Hoo!”
Yeah, I’ve seen the commercial, why do you ask? ;o)
Well, of course there’s you. And JB Lynn, of course. Plus, Allison,Toni, Karin… the whole MSW gang. Plus the former members like Roxanne and Jen, etc. Then there’s Seanan McGuire – who I’d totally fangirl over until she had to duck out the back to avoid me. Lynn Viehl is another. Ken Follett. Rick Riordan. The whole Word Whore crew – past and present. Monica McCarty. And then there are the yet-to-be published like my friends Janet and Natalie. I’d spend the whole time squeeing and shrieking like a little girl at a Justin Beaver concert.
(Yeah, I know it’s Bieber, but I like it better my way.)
The MSW gals (past and present) are awesome, B.E! Several of them have become good friends. *happy dances* I think you’d surprise yourself. That whole “fangirl squee” thing happens before and after, not during. During you’re all cool and shit like you know what you’re doing. 😉
Want to meet you and JB one of these days!
Well, I WOULD mention Silver but I’ve met you already 😉 hmmm, authors I’d like to meet (in random order) Steven King, Patricia Briggs, Melanie Rawn, Tad Williams, Karen Hancock, Richelle Mead, Cassandra Clare – those are just the first that come to mind 😀
Have tons of fun at RWA – someday I hope to go again !!!
Oh yeah, and Ashlyn and Jen !!!
It’s sad since I live a couple of hours away from Ashlyn that we’ve not met. I hope that changes sooner than later. And Jen is made of awesome! She’s so cute and funny in person, just like she is on her blog! 😀
I had such fun “sneaking” you into the literacy signing early. I think we’re back in NYC in 2015. 😉
I’m so there !!! Even if we are lucky enough to move to PA 😉
Speaking of, how’s that going?
I really think that you should be a part of the para/romance group at Dragon*Con and be there sometime soon as one of the featured authors. Or send me stuff that I can put on the tables there and expand your reader base.Or come and you can share our room!
I keep thinking about Dragon*Con but not this year. Time and money, right? Between RWA, the reader event in Vegas in October, and NOLA for Heather Graham’s conference, I’m short of both. I will send you some swag to hand out–bookmarks and the glow sticks I’m doing for SEASON OF THE WITCH. I would love to be one of the featured authors but have no clue how one goes about doing that, nor am I probably big enough name yet. Someday!
I get to meet and hang out with 3 of the 4 Plotmonkeys next week, have meals with Alannah Lynne and you. Also get to hang out with Rocki, Louisa Edwards, Ruthie Knox, and hopefully Jessica Scott. I’m also hoping the meet a group of authors from AL at some point for drinks. I’ve read the pubbed authors for years and followed those still working to get pubbed just as long.
I’m also staying with author friends this year. Pretty sure I will e fan-girl squeeing all weekend.
Can’t wait to see you again, Liza! 😀
