It’s a Beautiful Day

fall20cardinal-allbottledupAfter the rain Saturday morning (and the loss to West Virginia by OSU), the rest of the weekend turned out really nice. The weather is beautiful. This is why I love autumn. Crisp days, cool nights, bright blue skies. I feel invigorated in the fall. The hot, dog days of summer are a memory. Gone is the lethargy and necessity for lounging under the AC. Yet to come are the cold, dark-comes-early days of winter when the north wind howls and I want to curl up under a blanket and read.

I thought I was going to have at least one announcement today, but I’ve been told I have to wait a day or two. There’s another bit of news also hanging out there and each week that goes by, I hope I’m closer to knowing. Maybe this week. Maybe next.

Today I start writing again. I’m going to open three projects and see which one grabs Iffy’s attention. I can talk about two of them and you can vote. 😆 First is the Hard Target series that’s got a couple of pages done. Second is THE DEVIL’S CUT, Book 2 in the Penumbra Papers and Caleb’s story. The third is an idea that’s been noodling around in the back of my mind–either a novella or a category length contemporary just for fun.

Who had fun this weekend? What’s up with you this coming week? Me? Besides writing, I’m guest blogging about attending HOT MOJAVE KNIGHTS tomorrow. I’ll post the link tomorrow.

I vote The Devil’s Cut. However, go with which every one works best for you. Do you have enough chocolate for Iffy?

    • Silver James says:

Iffy is fully chocolanated and I’m caffeinated. Of course, it’s mid-morning and I have yet to open a file. 😆 I have to get my butt in gear, but discovered I have to run a couple of quick errands first. This afternoon. Laundry will be done. Errands run. And I’ll have no more excuses… 😉

  2. Any of those would work for me. I know – not helpful. But it’s the truth.

Sorry about OSU, but hey, OU beat ND. That’s good. Football was pretty pointless for me this weekend. Not only did U of M have a by, but so did MSU. So, I read a lot. I also worked on my tree identification project. 29 trees in the yard and I only know what about 2/3rds of them are. And some of those are like ‘it’s an oak or a hickory’ – but not what kind. The postal dude didn’t bring my plants, so no gardening. Yes… yes, I do lead an exciting life. ;o)

Here’s hoping this week brings some writing gumption for both of us – and plants for me.

    • Silver James says:

Bummer on no plants. I know you were all psyched to get them planted. Maybe today! I really need to get out to the front yard and weed one of the flower beds. Maybe tomorrow. That will be my excuse to keep from writing. 😉

And yeah, OU did. But…terribly disappointed in OSU. They looked like…high schoolers. Ah, well. Maybe next week. At least the Cards are peaking at the right time!
