The Universe as Muse

universeWhen this popped up in my inbox, it really resonated.

Silver, look between the sights, hear between the words, feel between your heart and mind, and there you’ll find me conspiring on your behalf, with magic, miracles, and more.

And look between the moments too,
The Universe

Silver, you are among the VERY BEST “THINGS” that has ever happened to me.

As writers, we do this. We look deeper into the world–both real and the ones in our imaginations. We hear what goes on behind the words, spoken in stage whispers just loud enough that we can hear in the audience. We search for the emotions and the motivations, for what makes our characters think and act and say what they do. When we get it right, our stories ARE magic. We make little miracles by transporting a reader away from this world into the worlds of our making.

As for that last bit, I think the Universe was being a little effusive but I’ll take the *hug* from the big U. I do know that those of you who come here are very definitely among the VERY BEST “THINGS” that have ever happened to me. And I thank you.

Today, I’m also blabbering over on the HOT MOJAVE KNIGHTS BLOG. I’m asking about why readers go to events and what they’d like to know. Please drop by and let me know, even if you won’t be there. *sniffle* I’ll miss you guys! Especially when I’m sitting in a room all by myself because nobody came to my “Intimate Chat.” *looks shifty-eyed* Or I can write during that period….

So tell me. What’s among the VERY BEST “THINGS” in your life?

  1. The very best things in my life: Hubs, the Kid, Mom, the cats, our new home, my friends, the profusion of critters here… and my writing. (I keep forgetting about that last one and neglecting it, but it really is among the best things in life.)

My best are friends and family who still claim and love, when I don’t always do what I should. Being able to enjoy each day.
Knowing that my only child that was given up for adoption is alive and
well and very happy, what more could a mother ask for.
Writing is a gift I thank the higher powers for each day, its my friend,
    confidant, lover and shrink.
Silver- what you said about giving a reader an escape is so true,
leaving reality behind is the only way to survive.
I thank you and other writers you inspire us to continue onthis journey
of being writers ourselves, knowing we are not alone on the road.
That no matter what we come across along the way, a writers imagination
    has no limits 🙂

You’re welcome, Kimber. One of my most treasured reviews came from someone sitting with her husband in ICU. My books took her out of the hospital–at least in her imagnation–for a little while.

I can only imagine how hard it is to give up a child for adoption. As an adoptee, I can speak that I grew up loved and taken care of, with a father who stoked my imagination and with a mother who taught me to survive. I pray your child is as lucky as I was! :hugs:
