Technology hates me. No, really. Or maybe it’s the repair techs who do. The good news is, I have internet and a new modem. The bad news is, I have no “hard-wired” phone line. Which is weird because the internet line and the phone line are one and the same. But none of the phones in the house have dial tones. Yeah. Lovely. And THOSE techs can’t come until Tuesday. Oh, and they’re supposed to call me on the line that’s dead to tell me when they are coming. Yeah. The CSR was not the brightest crayon in the box. *heaves big sigh*
Is anyone paying attention to the Oscars? I won’t be standing in line to see any of the movies nominated.
I have a new TV obsession. I mean…I even paid money to get streaming video of episodes I couldn’t get on the network website. The show? The Originals on the CW. It’s a spin-off of Vampire Diaries, which I never watched. TO is set in New Orleans. And it’s more for grownups. More about it on Tuesday.
Tomorrow is OKRWA. I’m presenting the afternoon program on Worldbuilding. It should be fun. And then Italian for dinner. Yum. Sunday? I’m going to catch up on the LOST GIRL episodes I haven’t seen yet since the new season started last Monday. I DVR it but have to catch up so I can start the new shows.
Who else had a bad week? Who’s going to have a good weekend? See y’all on Monday!
Lots of tax work artwork this week. Had to get all the federal and state reports finished. I hate waiting until the last minute to get things out. Of course getting W2’s out early now means nothing since no one can file until 1/31.
Tomorrow is my first meeting with my 5k training group (NOBO) and hopefully will be released on Monday to walk with my group. I’ll still show up in the morning to see everyone before they go out, since I’m one of the walking mentors. If we have some super slow people, I might even go walk with them.
Crossing fingers that you get cleared. I know you’ve been chomping at the bit to get back into action! That’s a good thing. Me? I’d be in the slowest group. I’d be all like, “Ready! Set! Meander!” 😉 Enjoy your weekend, tax stuff notwithstanding.
It’s been a blah week, Silver – but I commiserate with your techie problems (I’ve had my fair share of those recently). Just reminds you how ‘connected’ we are in our every day lives! The weekend here looks to be more of the same blah – maybe a drive to the beach is in order!
So happy to see Liza is up and running (well, walking). Fingers crossed she gets the OK to walk with the group 🙂
Yeah, this week is fired! The good news about no landline is that the telemarketers won’t be bothering me–not that I answer anyway. That’s what answering machines are for, but it does disturb my concentration. If I had a beach nearby, I’d definitely take a drive there! 😀 Have a great weekend and may next week be nicer.
Sorry you’re having landline problems. If it’s CenturyLink, good luck. I think most of the CSRs there are a bulb short of a fully lit string. The techs are awesome, though – once you can convince a CSR to send one out. No Oscars for me. And not a whole lot of fictional TV either. We’ve been watching a boatload of true-crime lately. Have fun with your OKRWA meeting and the Italian. ;o)
Everything’s been good here. :knock on wood: So, a good weekend is expected. :crosses fingers: I am feeling a bit superstitious today, though. ;o)
Nope, AT&T. Sometimes, I get awesome CSRs and I’m pleasant and nice, even when I’m stressed and pissed. Yesterday? She was dumber than a stump. Tuesday. Sometime between 8 am and 8 pm. They couldn’t even give me a half-way specific time. Grrrr. Ah well. Maybe I’ll get some work done until they get here. 😛
And you know…it does feel like there’s something in the air… *knocks wood too*
Damn have missed being here! Weeks at day job have seems to be like *seriously* we are acting this way in the new year. Meds seem to working overdrive *shaking head* but blessed to have a job, so I will just hang in there.
Hope to get mom’s house closed next week, it was postponed.
Silver– hope u get your internet up and working.
Internet was good after the internet repair tech put in a new phone line. But then he cut off the phones to the rest of the house. I can laugh now because the phone repair tech came today–a day early–and fixed the other problems. It’s all good! 😀
Hang in there on your mom’s house. And ugh on being so busy at work and with getting the meds smoothed out. Always happy when you find the time to drop by!
