I have been living on caffeine and words for the past four days. And in the past four days, I’ve written almost 15K words.
The good news? The first draft of FAERIE FAITH was finished at 11:15 p.m. last night.
The bad news? My brain is a caffeine-soaked mush.
So…FAITH goes on the back burner to simmer. I’ve read it so many times, rearranged things so often, that I can’t see straight. Those words have to settle into their own place and time.
I’m taking this morning off. Errands. (The dogs are out of food and they won’t be happy campers come dinner time! 😆 ) Laundry. A little housework. And this afternoon, I’ll be searching for a different set of words. I have revision notes back on my proposal for COWGIRL’S SWEETHEART. I’ll be ripping, sorting, and rearranging. That’s okay. Mr. HEd made some great suggestions. I’ve been mulling them over in the back of my mind as Abhean and Gwyn, his heroine, had center stage.
It’ll be nice to get back to Cord and Jolie again, digging deep to give them the perfect story to match the HEA I have in store for them. Of course…I get to torture them for many chapters before that happens. *bwahaha*
Later gators!
Holy crap, Woman! I’d make some comment about your being a ‘whirlwind’, a ‘tornado’ of epic word count – but with all the horrible weather down in your area, I won’t. I hope you’re all safe and sound! And, Holy crap, Woman! Fabulous job on the word count and getting Abhean’s story done and done. Great news, too, on the proposal – good luck with it all – and don’t forget to take some time to pamper yourself (we don’t want you to burn out with all this activity)!!!
Yeah…deadlines are a beast.I really needed to work on those revisions but Abhean was stuck in my head. Now he’s been exorcised for the time being. I have five days to get SWEETHEART whipped back into shape because starting May 5, I’ll be away from the keyboard for extended hours. I’ll blog about that on Friday. 😆
Today is mostly mindless, catch-up stuff. And putting my feet up a lot. Feet and ankles are still swollen from being at my desk for so many hours lately. 😛
15K in 4 days?! You rock. Now go… take a break. Eat a donut, enjoy the Spring, recharge your batteries. (Or run errands and catch up with all the house stuff that got set aside during the writing marathon.) :hugs:
DONUTS! I wish there was a Krispie Creme nearby. There’s one far south and the other is far north. Ah well. I plan to hit Starbucks after surviving WallyWorld. I’m also going to catch up on some “paperwork” stuffs–OKRWA website update, and some goodies for the NRCA finalists. I may end up just taking the whole day to veg and dive into SWEETHEART first thing in the morning.
Walmart has Krispy Kreme. Not the same, I know but… Jus’ sayin’.
Ha! EVERYBODY around here has KK in boxes–Loves Travel Shops, Homeland, Wallyworld. And if heated in the microwave for just the right number of seconds, I can almost pretend but…yeah. If I’m gonna waste the calories, I’m gonna drive for the real deal, sitting in the dang parking lot until the HOT sign comes on! 😉
Enjoy your well deserved time-lol Damn you’ve been busy!!!!
I could send *Dunkin Donuts* enjoy your Starbucks.
Have a great Tuesday!!!
We have Dunkin’s all over. I’m just really partial to KK’s when the Hot-n-Ready sign is on. 😆 Iffy tends to play nice when we’re up against a hard deadline (or two!) and if I don’t get interrupted, distracted, or discombobulated, I can churn out the story. 🙂
How’s the move/unpacking coming?
