What is it about Monday? It keeps showing up every 7th day whether we want it to or not! Gah! So…if it’s Monday, that means there was a weekend. I actually relaxed this weekend. I know. Shocking, right?!? 😀 So…my weekend roundup:
Sports. The entire state is in mourning. EVERYONE lost! It was crazy! Cards are out of the series. (Go Royals now!). OSU lost to TCU (Texas Christian). OU lost to Kansas State. Even Tulsa lost! Yeah…not a good weekend here, sports-wise.
Reading. I did some. Lara Adrian’s 1001 Nights novella, Tempted by Midnight. This is part of her on-going series, Not my favorite but good. I also indulged in some nostalgic reading with THE EXECUTIONER: WAR ON THE MAFIA. This is the first book in the Mack Bolan series. Mack was my first alpha hero book boyfriend. Okay. Second. James Bond was my first. Anyway, I crushed on the man and spun all sorts of fan fiction (before I knew that’s what it was called!) in my imagination. I’ll be blogging later this week on it. I also got sucked into a re-read of THAT OL’ BLACK MAGIC. Now I want to get back into the magic world of Penumbra! First, though…
Writing:As y’all know, BLUE MOON went live late on Friday! Here’s the rankings as of last night! Can I get a WOOT-WOOT!?!
Amazon Best Sellers Rank: #9,949 Paid in Kindle Store (See Top 100 Paid in Kindle Store)
#54 in Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > Literature & Fiction > Action & Adventure > Romance
#76 in Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > Literature & Fiction > Action & Adventure > War & Military
#100 in Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > Literature & Fiction > Action & Adventure > Fantasy
At the same time, I put BLOOD MOON up for free until tonight. It hit #1 in the Kindele eBooks > Romance > Fantasy category! Woot-woot! And hit #2 in the two other categories, plus broke the top 100 in Kindle Free. 🙂 Hopefully that will jump start sales for the series.
I plan on writing MOON SHOT, the next in the series for NaNoWriMo. That’s almost two weeks away. I can’t sit and twiddle my thumbs so I’m going to work on MOONSTRUCK: SECRETS, and maybe THE DEVIL’S CUT (Caleb’s Penumbra story). I shelved both with the massive writing year for my publishers. Now I want to get stuff written for ME! Before I have more massive writing. 😆 Yeah, yeah. It’s a terrible problem to have. I’m not bitching, trust me!
What about the rest of you? How was your weekend? And yes, I will get back in the saddle here with blogging. And being around on FB and Twitter a little more. Promise!
My weekend was eye-opening. 🙂 Got some pretty unpleasant news about Himalayan salt I was using, but stopped as of yesterday.
Yikes! That’s no bueno!
At least I was more the wiser and won’t use it anymore 🙂
Wish WordPress supported the whole FB (y) which creates the thumbs up icon. 😆
he he, yeah.
It doesn’t help that it is still dark when you get up now and colder. I can maybe handle it being darker, but the getting cold is for the birds.
I’m so not ready for NaNo. But that’s pretty much par for the course.
I. Hate. Daylight Savings Time. With eye-stabby OMGWTFBBQ No Love! So yeah, right there with you come morning! I remember when I used to start NaNo staring at a blank page with no title, no characters, and no plot. 😆 You’ll get there, Nellie! 😀
WTG on the amazon lists!! How cool is that? 🙂
Monster has had me since Thursday pretty much…today I FINALLY feel somewhat normal. –or as normal as I can be. I did a bit of reading. Read AXEL by Harper Sloan. Was pretty good. It’s the first in like a 4 book series or maybe 5.
Went to another wedding yesterday. Outside in front of a huge beautiful oak tree. It was perfect wedding setting.
I like it darker in the mornings. I dunno why though. But it’s thundering pretty good here right now. If it could only rain. I write better when its raining…again I have no idea why!
I like rain too because we get so little of it! Sorry about Monster. 😦 That sucks. I love outdoor weddings. Lawyer Guy and I were married in my parents’ backyard. Only’s looked like it could have been outdoors–bentwood arbor in front of 3-story windows overlooking the state capitol building.
Noooooo. Not Monday! But you know… if we got rid of Mondays, people would just begin to loath Tuesdays instead. ;o) Way to go on the Amazon lists! The book and the author both deserve it. Blue Moon rocks. Sorry about your teams. :hugs: I got a bye on Michigan, so it wasn’t a tragic weekend for me. Yay for writing for yourself time!
I didn’t do what I planned this weekend. In fact, I didn’t do much of anything except read. And still my WT edit notes sit there, staring. Bleh. And the closer November gets, the less urge I have to do any work. I’m storing energy for the writing marathon. Yeah, that’s the ticket!
I need to start handing out Procrastinator Buttons! 😆 And true. People would just hate poor little ol’ innocent Tuesday. We need Monday as a buffer and a “fall guy.” 😉
Now get to work, woman!
I am the Master Procrastinator!
And I did get to work last night. 4 whole pages worth. Go me.
Yay on the pages! I didn’t do a blasted thing towards the current projects. I coded website shit for OKRWA and then spend the afternoon designing and ordering a “rack card” for the Moonstruck series to take to my library signing on Nov. 1.
I was semi productive this weekend, getting things hung up and put away, and organized ( kind of a strange word in my life at time-lol)
Old House: wk and half ago was the party spot for beer ping pong, light fixture pinatas, knocked hole in wall and didn’t like their reflection in the 6′ x 4′ guestbath mirror so the shattered literally! For sale sign was gone so neighbors thought it was a move in party, NOT! The buyer had their inspection that day and i have 4 prevented measures on my patio door, it was open when i came in so we figure they didn’t secure it properly, because nothing else was broken or ajared. Theystill want the house, just had to clean/repair the damage. So keep fingers crossed should close 11/5, which won’t come soon enough. I know peeps are tired of me talking about it. Yep it could have been far worse the cops said. Meeting Allstate over there today seems we have hail damage, hopefully they will pay for that since they didn’t help with foundation/plumb leaks.
Reading: Finished Cynthia Eden Mine to Have, and I read Blue Moon- kicked ass girlie, hate there goverment even more, Hannah’s picnic table pep talk was classic Hannah-lol, and the ending well Hell, looking forward to 9.You deserve all the kudos on the ranking/ratings!!!
Mom’s b-day was yesterday she’d had been 74, put a alittle thing on my FB page and 2 music videos that I know have rattled the stainglass on her cloud-lol
Off to get another cup of coffee, get some things done here , before I meet Allstate ( was PUSHY said I have a buyer I need to know what you guys are gonna do, I can’t wait 2 weeks like you said)
So have a good day everybody!!
PS you know the myth on breaking a mirror, I’m just saying lol
Dang! I hate vandals! And yeah. I hope Karma is a bitch and bites them all in the ass and then chews! Yay, though, on the people still wanting to buy/close. Three weeks! Crossing fingers for Allstate.
Thanks for the kudos on BLUE MOON. I was a little worried about a certain part of it but no one is threatening me with torches and pitchforks so I guess my readers understand why. 😉 Yeah…no spoilers!
I can’t wait to tell the rest of the story!
I understood why you did it, thou you said it was possible which sent all of us in a panic. Oh yeah, I can’t wait for 9!
😀 Hey, gotta keep y’all on your toes, right?!?
