Monday, Monday All Day Long

lol monday coffeeExcept it’s a holiday. At least for some. Not for me. I have work to do. Proofreading. Revisions. Writing. The proofreading is fun. The revisions are little frustrating but not too unexpected. The writing was going great until the revisions came back so…the current WIPs are poking and tickling Iffy and demanding her attention. I need to work on splitting my day into sections, working each thing in it’s own time. It’ll be a trick. I’ll see if I can pull it off this week.

Saturday was chapter meeting day. Always fun to visit with my sister romance writers, enjoy lunch, and then listen in on the program.

Sunday was just another work day though I did get the outside Christmas decorations down and put away. It’s been either way too cold or I’ve been under the weather until today. I got a few inside decorations put up, too, plus a huge bunch of laundry. Even got it all folded and put away. Gosh, something new and different! 😆

How long is it until pitcher/catcher report day?

I’m reading contest books. Yes, it’s that time of year again. I didn’t enter any this year. Next year. I’m also continuing on my reread of the In Death series. I’m up to SEDUCTION IN DEATH, which is #13, I believe. Yup. Just check. Lucky number 13. The In Death books are my treat after reading a contest book. I’m really glad I read fast. There are books coming up I’m looking forward to:

BOUND BY FLAMES, by Jeaniene Frost, which is the third book in her Vlad series. Yes, I’ll reread the first two. 😆 Before the January 27th release.

OBSESSION IN DEATH, by JD Robb. Yes, I am obsessed with this series. I might even have them all reread by February 10th when it comes out. I only have 27 to go. shifty-eyes-ani2faster

VISION IN SILVER, by Anne Bishop, the third in her Others series. I love these books and have been dying to reread the first two. I’ll do so closer to the March 3, release date.

Yeah, yeah. I need to stop reading so much and spend more time writing but Insomnia is my current BFF. My brain can process someone else’s words but trying to spit out my own? At 2 a.m.? Ain’t happenin’. Ah well.

So what did y’all do this weekend? What are you reading or looking forward to reading? What’s on your plate for today? Me? I’m going after another cup of coffee and then getting to work.

  1. Holiday? We ain’t got time for no stinkin’ holidays. There’s work to be done.

Glad you’re having fun with the proofreading. Good luck with getting all your stuff done. If anyone pull it off, you can. Quick answer to your baseball question: 33 days. Yay for new releases! Boo for insomnia!

The weekend was devoted to taglines and blurbing. (Sent that off to the CA this morning, btw.) I also did some honeydos and took a walk, watched tragic football and read. There was this one really awesome book I inhaled… What was it called?? Oh yeah – Cowgirls Don’t Cry. ;o) Today, I’m going to stay home while Hubs drives into the city – do the floors, clean his bathroom, help Mom with computer stuff, and work on getting ready to publish (formatting, marketing, etc.).

Hate taglines and blurbs, as you well know. 😆 First proofread project done and returned. I enjoyed it immensely! Next up is my CP’s book she’s been working on to self-publish for like two years now. She just rewrote it again. Luckily, it’s short. I did get a scene written on my own stuff today. Gotta work the proposal into my schedule tomorrow. 😦

Housework. Ugh. ‘Nuff said. The rest? You got it, babe! 😀

Glad you got some stuff done and I hear ya on running around like a chicken with your head cut off and not sure what do to first…so then NOTHING gets done. << that's me right now, it seems.

Of course I've read Cowgirls don't Cry and nabbed the paperback at the store, which you say when I finally posted the pic. 😛 I always want to read more, but by the time I do writing stuff, the monster hits and sometimes I can read, then there are those times when I can't see. Seems to be the norm in the evenings lately. *bleh*

That said, I'm loving the weather. At least we got a break in the cold. 🙂

    • Silver James says:

I’m amazed at how much you get done, Ash! You rock, lady. And thanks on COWGIRLS. I get all doofus when people enjoy the book. Considering the problems I’m having with the 3rd book, it helps to know that readers like the 1st one! Amen on the weather!

  3. Liza says:

I packed up almost all of my apartment this weekend. Still have some little stuff to deal with before the move Friday, but only little stuff at this point. Closing scheduled (I think) on Thursday and then I’ll officially own my first home.

    • Silver James says:

We need to celebrate! That’s awesome news! I don’t envy the packing and moving but the unpacking will be a blast because…it’s YOUR place! Doin’ the happy dance for you, Liza!!! ❤

There was a weekend? Actually we did house seva and mopped the floor, charged the car, and baked. Working on promo for my upcoming release, and rewriting (and I mean every friggin’ sentence) of my February release. Good heavens, who gave me this schedule? Oh, me, that’s right. 😛 Good luck in all your work, Silver. 🙂

    • Silver James says:

Oh, lord. Let’s don’t talk about upcoming releases. I am so frickin’ far behind. 😦 Iffy needs a stern talking to. And maybe time out. I knew I was being optimistic when I set my schedule for this year, but it was a wish list, not carved in stone. *sigh* I know you, though. Getting all that homey stuff done will make you happy. 🙂
