Monday Ugh and I Don’t Mean the Boots

morningpersonBlerg. Yes. This is what I looked like in the mirror this morning. I feel–and look–like a slug. I have been in Excel Hell™ getting stuff done for the National Readers Choice Awards and also trying to keep my head above water on the deadline for MOONSTRUCK: SECRETS. That one is going to be close getting it out by the end of the month. Luckily, my editor is my insomniac twin and has a fast turnaround.

At least the weather’s been nice.

And I went to the cleaners and the grocery store.

Did I mention the Excel sheets? *headdesk* Oh, and I’m in two writing classes, one on synopsis and log lines (which I desperately need!) and one starting today on motorcycle gangs, bad boys, and writing them into romance. 🙂

I haven’t been on Facebook and everyone there is going to start unliking me. I’m such a lousy FB friend. eye sigh I will try to do better. I feel like I’ve been living under a rock and have no clue what anyone else is doing.

So tell me! What are y’all doing?!?!

  1. I will never unlike you, Silver. I’m just glad to hear you’re busy and not sick or something. :hugs: You’ve got a lot on your plate and we understand that.

What am I doing? It’s release week. That should say it all. I’m juggling. I got my Goodreads listing up for Dying Embers, and my author page filled in with stuff, and I finished the final edits, and I have the Amazon Kindle thing partially completed so I can upload, and my print cover is finished so I can do the Createspace thing, and I’m making sure all the bugs are out of the formatting… :collapses: I’ll be comatose this coming weekend.

Congrats on your upcoming release, B.E.!

Silver, I think I’m right there with you, minus the excel thing, cause I have NO clue about those things. In deadline hell myself and trying to learn to juggle multiple projects at once. Not sure I’ve figured it out yet. But per my friend and editors suggestion, I’m editing WRECK first as it has to be gone to editor by Feb 24 and as soon as that’s done, finishing the short KRUSH which is due to editor March 30. In the meantime, characters for book#3 have started talking, LOUD. Uh. Yeah.

And I’d love that class on MC gangs and bad boys. Any openings there?

Oh, and I have my first book signing tomorrow! Yays! Not nervous at all. HAHA right!

    • Silver James says:

The MC class is through RWA Romance U, Are you still a member? I’ll get you the links if you are.

Yay on the book signing. Wish I had time to drive up! You’ll be fine.

I love Scrivener for the reasons you just stated: editing one, writing a second, and voices from the third. I take the time when the voices speak to jot down notes in their project file. And then I can concentrate on the other, more mundane stuff. Definitely deal with the closest deadlines first. *nods* Hang in, darlin’. You got this!

      • Ashlynn says:

I have the entire first part of the story all set out in my head. Except now, they moved on to other scenes and it’s playing like a movie (like it always does) Meaning, get with, woman!

Dang it, no, I’m not a RWA member anymore. Since I can’t go to the conference and no local chapter here anymore, I lost the energy to pay up the fee. bleh!

One of these days though, I want to drive up to meet you and we can have lunch or something. (Okay, I can’t drive but maybe someone could take me)

Seeeee, and I came over here to check on you 😉 Glad you’re still plugging along! I’m sure Secrets will be ready for the end of the month – just take a deep breath and you’ll stay afloat!

Not too bad here, a little under the weather but as long as it doesn’t turn into pneumonia, it’s all good.
I am 1/3 done with my secret project, which is both exciting and scary but I’m writing so again, it’s all good.

And ditto what Ash said B.E. – you need to send me some links!!!

  4. I’ve always loved that pic, have a copy of it on my BB with the happy fairy dust being expense so smile!
    Your stuck with us Silver-lol.
Congrats Ash on your signing and B.E on the release ( looked on Amazon for preorder but didn’t see anything, let me know)
Nikki we must be breathing the same air, spent 4 hrs yesterday at ER clinic with chronic bronchitis tip toeing toward pneumonia, chest xrays, breathing treatments, IV’s, he let me leave with the understanding that I will see the pulmonary Dr, my oxygen level is low? Damn its hell getting old-lol
Silver you multitask like no other it will come together.
    Have a good evening.

I’ve told you before I could help with those excel sheets. 😉
