Thursday Thoughts – Universal. Really.

universeYou know, this is technically pretty darn good advice. All things considered. This is especially true if you’re a writer doing that whole self-published thing. I know this because I’ve spent the last two weeks doing things like formatting, uploading, more formatting, and dreading doing the whole marketing thing. But I’m in this. So I really, really need to mean it. And I do. Even if it seems like I don’t. So…back to work.

Approach everything you care about, Silver, as if you really, really mean it.

And I really, really mean it –

Because it’s so much easier for me to give you the “whole enchilada,” when you really, really mean it. And because life is far too precious, Silver, for half-ways, maybes, and decaf.

See? Even the Universe doesn’t like decaf! LOLOLOL And here’s some marketing. GO BUY MY FREAKING BOOKS! 😉
Not decaf

  1. I really really mean it. Unfortunately, the Universe likes to throw a handful of jacks in my path every now and again. Keeps me on my toes, I guess.

  2. Well, the universe obviously doesn’t care for poor souls like me who can’t have caffeine (or their hearts will explode) 😉
Seriously though – I hear ya. Much as I LOATHE marketing and selling myself, I did some things I was not comfortable with, trying to get some sales… Trying to give it my all. Most writers I know would write, even if no one read their stories, but it sure helps when you hear just one positive word ❤
I am hoping to cut back on my other hobbies so I can put more time into writing. Too many distractions/responsibilities just causes me to shut down. It's not a productive self-defense mechanism but I don't deal with stress well so I'm not gonna argue with my body, just listen to it and stop overloading myself.
(In case you haven't guessed – absence from the internet is the biggest clue that I've shut down for a bit and need to re-charge my batteries. Am I an introvert or what?!?)

We all need that positive word, especially from readers! I’m one of those who would write even if I didn’t sell a book, but I’ve also chosen writing as a career, which means my writing is a business with a bottom line. 😦

And I’m sorry about the coffee/caffeine. I didn’t start drinking coffee until I was 30 but man, it’s now it’s own food group as far as I’m concerned!
