A Monday in December

funny-pictures-my-official-monday-faceSo…technology. And interwebz things. These things are sooo not my friends! The bad news is my old faithful desk top is chugging like the little engine that almost could. The good news is, my Christmas present is coming early. Like Tuesday evening, or whenever the carrier gets here. I’ll be around! I’m getting a pretty-shiny-almost-new thing. It’s factory refurbished so I paid half-price for a powerhouse. That’s the hardware side of things. The software side means I have to take both Ol’ Faith and New Thing to a geek type person to suck and blow. I’m not even going to attempt it! And speaking of the soft side of things, I spent FOUR FREAKING HOURS fighting Gmail yesterday. Gmail is supposed to be the easy email client, right? headdeskWRONGWRONGWRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!! I still have a headache from doing this for hours yesterday. It shouldn’t be this hard. All I wanted to do was “fetch” emails from one secondary Gmail account into my primary account so I don’t have to remember to check to see if there are emails there. Except I kept getting error messages. And the help section for that error listed AN OPTION I DON’T HAVE IN MY SETTINGS!!! Seriously, Google?!?! What’s up with that?!?!?! *headdesk* Ahem. Moving on.

Writing: I got no editing done yesterday. None. Zip. Zero. Zilch. I can’t switch computers until I get this submission submitted because I can’t lose a day or two for the transition. Period. I shouldn’t have even been here typing this but I’m so frustrated I had to take it out on something so my poor blog is the scapegoat. And to top it off, I’m convinced I left out a whole huge scene needed for the plot and I’m already maxed out (give or take about 400 words) on the word count. Fun times. NOT!

TV? I’ve had Hallmark and Lifetime Christmas movies playing in the background and falling asleep by 11:00, which is good since I’am awake at 5-freaking-o’clock in the a.m. Not. Enough. Coffee. In. The. World. Just sayin’…

Sports: OU beat OSU. 😥 Cowboys are still going to the Alamo Bowl to take on Colorado. OU has to play Auburn in the Sugar Bowl. Now it’s basketball (not a fan) until around Valentine’s Day when pitchers and catchers report and spring training starts around my birthday!

Reading: Still basically in a slump. I’m listening to NAKED IN DEATH for the 100th time (that’s only a slight exaggeration!). I did start a book titled THE DARK HUNTSMAN. I’m working through it. Not a bad story. Like the characters, just in the wrong head space to get really excited. Which makes me a sad camper. 😦

Cold weather is coming. The outside decorations are up. I’m meal planning for dark, chilly nights. And I’m putting virtual ice on the pretend bruise on my forehead. What’s up with y’all? Share something to cheer me up. PLEASE!?!??!? 😉

  1. Crap. I used to know how to set up a gmail account to auto-forward all emails to a different account. Let me think on it a spell and if I come up with the answer, I’ll email you. I’m so sorry you’re having all these ‘puter problems. :hugs: My team got the Orange Bowl. And little Western Michigan got the Cotton Bowl! I have no hopes they will beat Wisc, though. Sorry you’re in a reading slump. I understand. I only read one book last month. =o\

What’s up over here? I picked up a nifty digital fish scale yesterday. Now I just need to catch something to weigh. Testing it, I discovered the 20oz bag of rolls I bought was actually 25oz. Score. (Unless the new scale is off by 5oz, which would suck. I prefer to think Wallyworld stuck an extra roll in there.) BTW, these telera rolls I found at Wallyworld are the bomb. So good for sandwiches. In other news, I read and loved Rescue Moon. I’m currently reading The Red Dragon by Thomas Harris. It’s awesome, so maybe you could try that for your slump.

I hope I said something in there that cheered you up. It wasn’t much, but it was all I had. :hugs:

RED DRAGON was a great book. I enjoyed it much more than the books that followed. I’d even read it before the movie. 🙂 Crossing fingers on the correct weight of the scale.

      Who plays the Michigans?

Awww, thanks on RESCUE MOON. It was a fun one to write.

I’m hoping that it was just because I “took over” the chapter email and changed the email and personal info and that when I try this morning (I’m running slow–yay for the return of insomnia. NOT!) it will work. I’ve forwarded my emails from other clients. Don’t know why Gmail to Gmail is such a pain! *sigh*

Got something to say?
